Cook was one of the long time co-hosts of the show for the past 40 years.
He was the guy in charge of all the landscaping projects of the houses they remodeled over the years. I had seen somewhere that he was battling cancer and it finally got the best of him.
RIP

Yeah, there were times on the show he'd be mostly overseeing projects instead of getting his hands dirty and he had lost a good bit of weight and looked drained and frail.
No detail was given about the cause, just that he had suffered a "long term" illness.

He had retired from the show for health reasons but they never released any details of why.

I tried to find out what his ailment was when he started looking ill about 5 years ago. They were tight lipped which is understandable. If I had to guess I'd say Parkinson's. iirc, his longtime wife died about 10 years ago and that took a toll on him.
RIP to a man that made his living by working damn hard.

He sure made something out of nothing for so many people over the years. RIP and God Speed……..

Just when it is time to retire, and he gets that…sucks.

Was wondering today while watching reruns of This Old House how he was doing. They will definitely do a tribute this fall with the new season.

Already have a short tribute up on the Facebook page.
