Need help -
We have an older home built in 80s. The shower walls are some kind of solid surface (tubs with added shower, not a combo). The surface is kinda slick and glossy like “cultured marble” of today? Any idea what this could be? It reminds me of Hardy Board but it has a slick finish. One bathroom is painted (when we bought the house). Trying to paint the other bathroom and not sure why kind of paint will stick to whatever this shower wall is made of.

May be cultured marble. Just rip it out, put up durock, seal it with redgard, and tile it.
