I am looking for reviews from experienced installers or customers.
Is this stuff worth $10/bag ?
(3x the standard box store stuff)
Does it really retain color for 4 years?
Does it really go 50% further spreading compared to box store stuff?
I am usually the guy that goes every year and needs 80-100 bags for all my beds and gets the 5 bags for 10 bucks deal. Thinking of upgrading but collecting opinions first

Probably the best mulch I've used, but it is expensive. The color retention is real, but 1-2 years is max as you will have the product decompose over that amount of time in your flowerbed. I would say it does hold up really well compared to other mulch types/brands.
It does not spread further. In fact, it may be less. But that may be because they are usually sold in 2 cubic foot bags instead of 3.
We used it for many years, but went back to cypress for economic reasons. I use a pallet or more every spring.

I always buy the "golden" colored softscape. It's a bit more work to put down, but it does last really well. The golden color isn't too far off from natural, so it seems to keep it's color even better.
