Does anyone have one of these washers and does it clean the same, better or worse than a non steam machine?

I always had steam dryers when I was single because of the “freshen up” feature. Never figured out what steam in a washer actually did.

Always figured it was just something else to break.

Me neither and just curious whether or not there are any benefits from a buyers POV as opposed to those noted in ads.

Sounds like more to break.

I use the steam refresh on my dryer all the time. I hate folding clothes, so I like to leave clothes in the dryer and steam fresh them in the morning.

They make these things called... hangars. Nobody needs folded underwear, this isn't basic where you need rows of smiley faces when you open the drawer.

I never hooked up the steam on the dryer because I figured it would create a bad habit.

If you're desperate to unwrinkle something and you have half an hour, just throw a damp washcloth in with the item and put it on timed dry. "Steam," but you didn't pay $79 for the feature!

Is there a water line hooked to the dryer? How does this work

Yep. I helped a family member install one. I've never used it, but we had to get a water line splitter to hook up both the washer and dryer.

As said above, I keep a spray bottle of water by my dryer and I just spritz my clothes and toss them in for 10 mins to de wrinkle. Works great.

We had one on our previous dryer. You get a hose splitter and run your hoses from the hot water tap. It seemed kind of like a gimmick, and never worked as quickly as it said it would. It was something like a 10-15 minute steam cycle, but if you only had like one or two outfits in there, there wasn't enough time to completely dry out the steam. So then you'd have to fluff it on medium another 8-10 minutes. Sort of defeats the purpose of having a quick way to get wrinkles out. I much prefer the damp washcloth and 10 minutes on medium or medium-high heat. Less bells and whistles to break.
