Bought the Stihl trimmer about a month ago and it has done a great job with the trimming, but it isn't as good as the edging.

Anyone use this one? Is it worth it?

Can't tell which model that is but I have a Stihl FC96, which is the straight shaft and I really like it. I always used Mclane push edgers and decided to switch. I've tried to edge with a trimmer and using an actual edger is much, much better. Also, changing the blade is super easy and quick.

I currently have the FSA 57 trimmer. I can't tell on the website, but is there any good head attachments that I could use for trimming?

FX56C curved shaft Stihl Edger here. I can edge at a walking pace with no problems. Blades are less than $5. Whole yard can be done in minutes thus worth the cost.

Don't know about any attachments for certain but I would doubt it. Maybe just a different type of spool type head but probably not for actual edging.

Tried using my electric weed eater as an edger and boy I ran through that string quickly

I don't know about that model. I have an older Stihl FC 90 and it's a great edger and easy to start.

I have a 1/4 mile of edging at my home. Have been using the stihl multi attachment for 10 years and only service was a carb change last year. Not sure about cordless but their gas products are worth the money. Have 5 attachments for it from chain saw to cultivator

I have the straight shaft with a Darwins Grip , absolute game changer when it comes to edging.

I bought the sthil grass trimmer about two years ago, but only use it for trimming. For edging my driveway and sidewalk, I still use the old hand-held gas trimmer. I guess the new ones must have more torque, but the old one is still working fine. I have purchased a lot of products from sthil dealers ( LINK ) and they are all top quality products.

A relative gave me a Stihl edger like that when they started using a lawn service company and though I didn’t like it as much as one of these which I already owned

I think you’d be happy with it if you used it on a regular basis - like every time you cut the grass.

Make sure your pole edger has the larger 8” blade.

The stihl model I bought came with a small 3” blade that made edging tougher than it should with that tool. Recently changed my blade for $10 with the larger blade and the amount of effort needed to run the tool was massively cut down. Slices clean and deep with no effort now.

If you're doing the AP (pro line) battery stuff you'll be pleased with all of it. We've had very good luck with them. I'm running the KMA135. Had the old KM130 for 14 years or so and swapped to the 135 last year. I love it.
