What do you do if you have MSM or Prodiamine 65 WDG left over after you spray? Is it okay to store it for later use? I have a four gallon sprayer and I am thinking I will have left over after spraying.

Is there a formula for mixing less than 4 gallons? I have tiny measuring spoons but not a scale.

ETA: Do you use a surfactant with MSM and Prodiamine?

I've got a bottle of msm over 4 years old and it's still working.

You need to square off a 100 foot plot and spray to determine precise measurements

yes use surfactant. just mix appropriately so that you don't agitate too much.

Often that will be answered on the label so read it carefully, but by and large it’s best to discard any remaining solution but honestly you shouldn’t have any remaining. ETA: I’m referring to mixed solution not dry chemical remaining in the bottles - store that ideally in a dry, temperature regulated location.

Just because you have a 4 gallon sprayer doesn’t mean you need to mix 4 gallons, just mix as much as you need - it’s ok to put 1, 2. 2.5 .... gallons in a 4 gal sprayer.

Prodamine - 0.4 oz = 1 1/2 teaspoons sprayed per 1000 sq ft of lawn.

MSM use 1/8 teaspoon per 1000 sq ft of lawn.

Don’t think of the water as a dilutant, but rather a carrier. If it takes 2 gallons to effectively spray 1000 sq ft then mix those volumes of herbicides, in 2 gallons of water and spray that 2 gal over 1000 sq ft, if you can spray 1000 sq ft with 1 gallon of solution then mix the herbicides in one gallon and distribute that gallon over 1000 sq ft, and so on - in other words calibrate your sprayer.

You should use surfactant when spraying MSM, but not with Prodiamine.

To weigh chemicals, order one of these from Amazon - $15.

I've posted a fill chart for msm. I'll try to find mine for Barricade. If you are using a 4 gallon backpack with a fan tip it is spraying at .67 gallons per minute. You should cover 1,000 square feet in that minute. Go to www.findlotsize.com to find your lot size if you don't know it.

Once you mix the wettable powder with water it won't last year to year.

I’m pretty sure that guy would fall asleep somewhere between fan tip and .67.

Gotta be honest. I was being lazy tonight. I didn’t look to hard. Kinda turned over some papers here and there, went through my post history. I’ll find it tomorrow.

I have a 4 gallon Chapin backpack sprayer. I only cover 2000 sq ft with 4 gallons using the fan tip. Maybe I walk to slow but that’s what I use as a go by

I was just going to spot spray the MSM and do the entire yard with the Prodiamine, unless there is reason to do the entire yard with MSM.

You can spray slower for sure. What I fill is 1,000 square feet a minute. You can take my fill chart and dilute it by half but spray 500 square feet a minute. You’ll apply the same amount of product as me.

Spot treating is fine. Only treat what you need.

I only found a 1 and 2 gallon rate. I’m still looking for it.

Wouldn't the 4 gallon rate be double the 2 gallon rate and the 3 gallon rate between the 2 and the 4? I only have a 4 gallon sprayer.
