How long does it take talstar to be rainproof? I'm getting answers of 2hrs. to 6hrs.

Rainfast is 6 hours.

quote:

Answer: When applying Talstar or most other insecticides, you want to make sure the product has at least 6 hours of full dry time prior to rain or watering to ensure it is completely rainfast. After 6 hours the product will typically hold up to standard outdoor elements roughly 30 days, sometimes more.

FYI talstar isn’t the best outdoors. It’s fine some places like around your house where it’s protected. Chances are if it dried it will be fine for what you are discussing, but it’s really only effective for a week or two outdoors in my experience. My experience is for sod wedworms, it will kill them within 24hours without a problem and lasts a couple of days. But in the heat of summer they come back in 2 weeks generally and you have to spray again.

I’ve been using Talstar P with no issues for a little over a year, but just picked up Demon Max based on suggestions in another thread. The Demon Max is suppose to help keep wasps from building nests around the house.

I’m no professional and I still use talstar inside because I bought 132oz of it a couple years ago. I still use it outside too.

But there are oil based insecticides and granules, both of which are generally going to last much longer.

Talstar is 7.9% bifenthrin. The Talstar P is 25% bifenthrin. The 25% bifenthrin is sold to professionals or those with a pesticide use card because it's restricted.

Buy the 7.9% bifnthrin and mix it 3X(24%) the rate on label per gal of water. Add 1 oz mineral oil per gal of spray for outside.

Spray the 7.9 bifenthrin inside house without the mineral oil and mix it as label says. 1 oz per gal water.
