Supplies for owens corning, etc are months out. The roofing guy is trying to sell me on this line as similar to Duration. Thoughts?

Accidental upvote....

I recently installed on several rentals because of availability.

Not sure how they'll hold up on the long run.

Solid shingle. Weatherwood and black are nice colors. All the others look like shite.

Low on the list in regards to quality shingles. Would be worth waiting on GAF, Atlas, or OC.

cant comment on any specific shingle but TAMKO stands for Texas Arkansas Missouri Kansas Oklahoma. They are regionally produced products of the highest quality.

I have TAMKO on my house. No issues.

I can get GAF Timberline it seems. It just didn't seem quite the quality of Duration.

In the process of picking shingles for my build. Tamko black does look pretty good. What is the #1 shingle?

I just had the Tamko Titan Natural Timber installed on my house and I love the look. I'm not sure about the durability. We'll see.

Tamko is a builders grade shingle. I have not installed any Titans but I highly doubt they are of the quality of Atlas or OC Duration. I would call around and get other quotes. I get Atlas Pinnacle Pristine weekly. Popular colors are 2 weeks at most.

Tamko titan is as nice as both. Nice reinforced nail strip. 160 wind warranty 4 nails. Heritage just about fall apart holding them.

Interesting that you are getting shingles that quickly in your area when everything around here is weeks and months out according to the contractors I've talked to.

ETA: referring to pinnacle pristine.

Depends on color, but for most of them the longest wait is 2 weeks. Hearthstone is the color taking the longest for us. A lot of these are going to Laplace, Gonzales, Lutcher areas.

That is not true. They offer shingles at all levels from builders grade on up.

They make UL impact resistant shingles (what I got) to reduce home insurance premiums for those in hail prone areas. They also offer tons of architectural shingles.

Ok, I’ll be more specific. The Tamko Heritage shingles that are readily available and being sold to property owners are Builders Grade shingles. I have put the on and taken them off of roof tops. They are very thin and tear easily. I can’t speak to their Titan or class 4 shingles as I typically install Atlas Storm Master class 4 shingles. I am interested in looking at the Titan shingles I’m guessing they are similar to IKO shingles.
