Uncoupling Membrane for Marble on Concrete Slab?

Doing a bathroom renovation and planning to replace the ceramic tile with marble. Seeing all the rage with uncoupling membranes but unclear on if it’s needed as I’ve pulled up a ton of ceramic over the years and it’s always set directly on the slab.
Needed or overkill? The downside I foresee is adding marginal height where it will meet the existing floor at the door.

Not sure I would use it on a slab. I used it over plywood before and it worked good.

There are different types of uncoupling membranes, and I wouldnt install any tile on slab without them. Too easy to do. There are liquid applied membranes (which dont add any real "height" to tbe assembly) which are cheap and just roll on similar to redgard.

I would use one.
Redgard is good for that, also Ditra. Although Ditra is not advertised to be a crack isolation membrane, I feel it has to help.
The last thing you want is for your expensive marble installation go south because you didn’t use one.
