Walmart tire mounting?

I used them before, they've been good enough in the past.
I needed to do a new set anyway, got a flat on the way home so that expedited the process. Cut sidewall.
For those who DON'T know, you can go online and order from walmart (dot) com. That opens up a far bigger lineup than what you would get in the store, and the prices are competitive (they pricematch specific tires to anyone). Standard mount-balance w lifetime rotation is $15 per tire, $25 this add road hazard. Probably as cheap as you normally can find, and with the benefit of having
A) a nearby store to get the tires
B) road hazard service from any wallyworld with the tire shop.
So... I just got a set of Falken Ziex ZE960 A/S All-Season 195/50-15 82 V, 4 tires for $260, total cost before mounting is $296.17 (taxes).
Downside is I have to wait about a week.
Anyone else use them, any feedback or tips?

I caught a Black Friday deal on a new set of Coopers there a couple weeks ago. Tires were delivered to the store in 2 days and installed the next morning.
They left a few little dings on the lip of a couple of my rims from prying the tires on/off, but it wasn't enough to bother me. With the tires on sale, TIC was almost $200 less than anywhere else.

Not sure about currently, but I know about 5 different people who got burnt by Walmart due to them tightening the lug nuts too much and stripping the studs. Impossible to tell until you (strain to) remove the wheel and then replace it. Sucks if it happens on the side of the road.

I got some Cooper Zeons from them about a year ago. I had them shipped to the store, the manager called to make an appointment, dropped off, and picked up after work. Went pretty smooth.

I just got tires installed today at WalMart on a car that I ordered the tires online. It cost $12 per tire for install / lifetime balance and rotation, and $10 per tire for road hazard.
Another plus, you are also able to schedule and appointment to have the tires installed.

I’ve used them in the past for new tires and rotations and they’ve been good. They’re usually open on weekends and holidays which is helpful. The only problem I’ve had is that they stripped one of my lock nuts.

Tires are the only thing on your vehicle touching the road.
Due to that, Walmarts brain dead employees are not going to be entrusted to touch mine.

Strangest experience this weekend and it seems the right thread to share it in.
Have been shopping some new wheels and finally had to commit. Nothing special, Moto Metal cheap chinese stuff. After finally deciding which ones to go with I just did a cursory search online to see if anyone was cheaper.
Turns out Walmart beat everyone else by more than $50/wheel. The delivery estimate was nearly the same, almost two weeks. They were on my porch 3 days after I ordered.
Have been shopping some new wheels and finally had to commit. Nothing special, Moto Metal cheap chinese stuff. After finally deciding which ones to go with I just did a cursory search online to see if anyone was cheaper.

I’ve had two sets of tires purchased and mounted through Walmart and never had an issue. Best priced tires I could find after extensive research.

I would have given them a try had they carried the tires I wanted.
As it turns out I am using my normal mechanic. Tire prices are so even across the board I would rather keep the money local and continue to build my relationship with someone I trust.
Even talking with Costco they were 12 days delivery on tires and only saved $10/tire. Will save more than that paying cash.

Quit using Walmart a long time ago after watching them lift my truck in the air while the truck was literally sea-saw rocking on the lift as they were going up with it. Told the guy "look at the truck rocking" as it was going up. Pretty good chance it would have fell off the lift which I'm sure their insurance would have covered....but the point is, if they can't do something simple as lifting the truck safely, I can't trust them to do my tires and put my safety in their hands

Order hankooks online and have them installed at Costco.
