Weed-eat or mow first?

Sorry I know this borderline an OT topic lol. But I'm just curious about responses here. My dad always ran the weedeater first then mowed, so that's how I learned. Then when I got my own place I gradually started flipping them, mainly bc I didn't always run the trimmer (a complete sin in my dad's home - you weed-eat every time you mow!), so I got in the habit of starting the mower first that way. Yesterday for some reason I trimmed first and I'll be damned if it didn't make the mowing part seem so much easier not feeling like I had to get right up on the edge of everything. Had a nice little cushion everywhere. Think I'm going back to weedeater first!

I trim as needed and now as needed. Why do you have to relate the two at all?

I always weed-eat first so the mower mulches the trimmings

For the most part I mow, trim, and edge every time I do the yard. I thought that was normal haha. Guess it depends on the yard.

This, plus once you weed eat and edge, the hard work is over. Time to sit on the mower with a beer

Trim first.
Then it's like a break to run the mower.
Clean up.

Well I don't have a riding mower, so it's all varying degrees of work for me

I generally weed eat only every other mowing, but do mow first and then break out the weed eater. Then it's just a bit of sweeping up to get rid of the mess on the driveway and sidewalk.

Lift the deck on mower and blow the clippings off driveway.

Trim
Blow
Mow
Blow Again
In that order

Have always mowed first. After reading some replies, I think next time I will try it with weed-eat/edge first.

I mow first. I always weed eat more than I need to if I do it first. Hit what's left after mowing.

Edge first,then weedeater and mow.
Weed eat and edge every 2 weeks.
After trying out pgr the last month I love how bermuda grows along the slab instead of growing up trying to get inside.
So pgr will be my game changer for weedeating next year.

It's easier to weed-eat if I mow first, but I usually weed-eat first because it wears me out more than sitting on the mower and I want to be done with the hard part first. And then my battery is charging while I mow to do any blowing needed after both.

This is how I've done it for years. But taking the inverse of this and weedeating first and mowing what's left was a nice change of pace

I used to mow first but as I got older sometimes after mowing I wouldn't want to edge, trim, and blow. Especially if it was hot. I flipped and started edging, trimming, then mowing, then blowing everything down. Maybe just a mental thing for me at least.
