What is a fair price for sentricon system and does it work?

I dont think I can install it myself because I need the termite contract secondary to having a mortgage. Was quoted $1000 plus a $200+ annual renewal. I suspect that's relatively high.
Also, I know they hype it with "studies" but who did the studies? In the past I read studies that said it was ineffective.

I think that’s about what mine was. They switched last renewal. They told me the Sentricon would be more expensive than trenching again but they would give it to me for the same price. I’m sure that was a BS sales thing though so I don’t really know how much it should cost.

I have a termite contract with Ja-Roy. I am do for the full treatment next year. They gave me a quote of $592 for the liquid treatment plus $125 yearly or $680 for the initial install of Sentricon plus $180 yearly.

My houses footprint might be between 2500 to 3000 sqft. Is that comoarable for your prices? Seems like you are getting both for a bit more than the price I was quoted for just sentricon.

Sentricon works but does not protect from aerial infestations. But then again, liquid application doesn’t either. I prefer liquid application but the issue is that most companies do not do them correctly because it requires that they trench around your foundation. If done correctly, it can be a labor intensive process and most technicians are too lazy to do it right. None of these are a substitute to taking proper preventive measures like routinely checking for moisture issues around your roof and slab, keeping vegetation and rotting wood from around your home, keeping your gutters clean, routine inspections for evidence of termite activity, etc. Don’t trust damage warranties as most companies will find a way out of being responsible and only offer to retreat for free rather than repair damages. Make sure you pick a good company. Do not use Arrow Pest control.

That is about the size of my house. Price is for them to do one or the other, not both.

It isnt an absolute guarantee but it should stop infestations coming underground. It is still possible for them to directly infest via air during the swarming season (although don't get alarmed if you have a few crawling in your house after a swarm- that's normal and happens to everyone - only be concerned if you see the little milky wingless ones around).
The pricing sounds pretty standard. For both of my home purchases, I renewed the previous owner's contract, so only had to stick with the monthly. Terminix is a lot more affordable than J&J, especially given how little effort goes into an annual inspection.

Do they have to pull out the cartridge to load the poison once termite activity has been detected in the trap, or is the cellulose always impregnated with the chemical?

And, as soon as one colony is killed, what's to stop the neighbors' colonies from moving in and having to find that needle again?

The quote you got is a steal compared to mine. It was about $1200 and $350 yearly renewal.

The lady we bought our house from had to pay for the system and it was around 2,100 or 2,200 but we have 3 buildings on the property. My annual renewal is $450. North Lafayette

Why not Arrow?
Two different people I know dropped them because they claimed that had come out and done their annual treatment and billed them but they knew they hadn’t come by. One reviewed security cameras and the other had a locked gate with a dog in the back. In talking with a friend that works for dept. of ag. he says they probably get more complaints than any other local company.

Once the sentricon goes in do these companies do the interior inspections of your home annually? A neighbor told me they just check the stations outside the house.
