I've been using Lesco 0-0-7 for pre emerge with satisfactory results.
I'm open to suggestions for something better. I've been contemplating The Anderson's Barricade but not certain if the splurge is worth it. Ronk?
I have primarily Centipede but common bermuda is making it's way in.

I just ordered some Andersons barricade…. I’ve had mixed results with Lesco but that probably the Indian not the Arrow. I’m going to split apps this year but the South Mississippi rain is a mother.

It’s the same active ingredient regardless of the manufacturer - product name. Like Bayer Aspirin vs Generic Brand.

You state you are getting good results with the LESCO Sonewall 0-0-7 (Prodiamine) why do you want to change? If you want to splurge Specticle is an excellent pre-emergent herbicide that will control some weeds that Prodiamine won’t. Dimension (dithiopyr) is a very good pre-emergent, slightly more expensive than Prodiamine but not by much.

CrawDude - The Lesco has been fine just wondering if there's anything better. Thanks for the info.

Well Specticle Flo (liquid & sprayed; granular Specticle is much higher per 1000 sq ft) is exceptionally good and I use it in fall. As I recall about $3 per 1000 sq ft per application, so say $30 for 10 K sq ft of lawn - to me not a great expense but a good bit higher than Prodiamine. I use Prodiamine or Dimension in spring. Let’s say any pre-emergent is vastly better than no pre-emergent.

Does spectacle cover dove weed? That’s been a big issue for me this year.

Yes. Specticle controls doveweed. It is far superior to any other pre em.

What’s the difference between Specticle FLO and Specticle Total?

And is there a place you’d recommend buying it from? Domyown seems to always be out.

S Flo is just a pre-emergent herbicide, S Total is a combo of pre-emergent & post-emergent.

Where are you located? I buy it at Site One LandscapeSupply, excellent pricing - but only two locations in LA - Baton Rouge & Madisonville. Check on line if you have a location near you if you are in another state.

North Louisiana near West Monroe. I’ll look around but wasn’t sure if you had an online option. We have a few places that may have it.

The price of this 18 oz bottle will make you gag, but at a labeled application rate of 6 oz per acre per application for warm season grasses, that equates to $2.50 per 1000 sq ft per application. I can treat my 10k sq ft lawn, 3 times per year for 4 years on this 18 oz bottle. Helps to run the math first before dismissing it out-of-hand when seeing the initial price of that bottle.

Yeah Craw. You mentioned Specticle in other post for my doveweed infestation, but God dog it's pricy upfront. I need to start splitting cost and bottles with someone.....
