Wife wants to replace all the interior door knobs in our home but every option she considers is either ugly or looks like it will be dated very quickly. I suggested the knobs I linked, but she claims those have been out of style for years now.

I've put egg knobs in 15 years ago and still feel they look good. Probably depends on the house.

I put these on my interior doors:

And these on my exterior doors:

I wish I would've done the handles everywhere but I was talked out of them based on the idea that they can catch clothes when walking by.

I hadn't even considered these. I like the look.

Similar to the these. The main reason we are looking to exchange is to switch from nickel to matte black or bronze.

We have dark bronze? egg shaped ones. Built the house in 2012 and I still think they are fine. I’ll never have a handle style. My big cat would definitely open.

True story, I had to replace the knobs for the entire house because my labrador learned how to open doors with the lever handles.

Looks exactly like the knobs I recently installed in the guest bedroom model (replacing shiny brass ones that were definitely 70s era)

I texted my supervisor pictures of a few egg shaped knobs and she did not approve.

Good thing is that I might save some money if she's never able to make up her mind.

oh, believe me, ours tries. not quite enough grip. we've floated the idea of replacing our bedroom with std round ones in the event he ever cracks the code

Our curved lever handles are probably just over 20 years old now, and I would replace them with the exact same thing. I loved them.

I love those style of knobs. It's hard to describe how great they are until you've used them. I intend to replace all of my knobs with that shape.

Lever knobs are the least secure cause of the lever
A little kid could brake one off in a second cause of the leverage in the handle

I have put these style in my past 2 homes, first one was oil rubbed bronze, this time I went with matte black and they are decent quality, no issues really and a great deal compared to big box/amazon:

Designer Impressions

Check out their store, all kind of styles/finishes

They have them on amazon too:

I went with Baldwin Alcott yrs ago. I don't feel they've aged and have a quality feel. At the time it was a splurge.

Who gives a shite? It's your house. install what you like. Sounds like your wife doesn't like them and is using "out of style" to try to bolster her argument. Ask her what she would say if you rejected some decorations because they were vintage and "out of style"

I have your exterior ones throughout my house. my only complaint is babies figure out how to open them earlier. I like those interior ones you use though

Just tell her who ever picks out the style of door knob gets to be the one who has to change them out.

She will see it your way.
