What’s the difference between RunTru and Trane?

I know that RunTru is the value line but is there a real difference or is it just branding? I'm talking a/c units BTW.

I recall reading about those in the past week or so and as I recall RunTru units are fully made/assembled in China, whereas Trane/American Standard made/assembled in the USA. Doesn’t necessarily mean or imply RunTru are inferior units other than they are value units. If I can find where I read that I provide a link.
ETA: My bad, info above is incorrect, confused it with something else. RunTru is made in Tyler, TX by Trane. HVAC Company owner and tech who installs Tranes in his business says “RunTru is just a cheap Trane inside of a cheap jacket.” Watch first 50 sec of this Y/T video where he states that LINK.

Thanks for the info. I got a quote and the RunTru was $900 cheaper than the Trane. RunTru's aren’t painted or something, just bare metal air handlers.

I wasn’t aware that Trane made a value line of HVACs until I saw the Y/T video I posted but they are a relatively recent product line offered by Trane. LINK. I wouldn’t let the fact that it is a value line deter you if you you like what they offer and pricing.
I would guess the “guts” are probably the same components as used in their equivalent SEER Trane or American Standard lines. They can leave certain components off a value line to lower cost that don’t really affect the cooling and heating performance of the system. Things like a cheaper made cabinet, high and low pressure safety valves, using a orifice refrigerant metering device rather than a TXV, etc - heck even lack advertising and marketing the Tru Run line vs their equivalent Trane line will lower cost. Warranty on Tru Run components is the same as their Trane and American Standard labeled products according to their website. .
The quality of work and attention to detail by the techs when installing the unit is really much more important to the performance and longevity of the system than the equipment per se - I’d focus more on that when vetting the company you choose.
