What's Tree Removal Cost These Days?

About 20 trees at a suburban residence. I had some removed years ago, I don't remember the cost and I'm sure it's like everything else- more expensive now.
Stump grinding included.

Depends on the tree.
I'm having a pretty large dead pine tree (close to house and requiring crane) taken down in the Mandeville area in a few weeks and the cost is $2,400.
Got 3 quotes ranging from $2,200 to $2,400. Went with the $2,400 since I had used guy in past and trusted him.
When I had some smaller trees removed in 2022, it was around $1,300/tree (2 water oaks and a smaller pine).

Last spring, I had two 30' oaks cut down, 5 others trimmed, and two small crepe myrtles cut down for $7500. Stump grinding was not included.

Definitely price around. The tree guys like to just throw out random numbers to see if you'll bite. I got a range from $2,000 to 9,000 (guy wanted to bring in a crane truck

Mine are very mature loblolly pines and sweetgums. They might need a damn crane. I'm so fricked.

Can they be dropped or need to be felled?

I had a company cut down a 50' pine in my front yard and it cost $775 including haul off and grinding. Licensed and bonded. But I'm in Houston so price will vary.

Just paid $1,300 to cut and haul off an 80 ft cypress tree
Had to climb and pieced it down
40 inches at base, 1 ft above ground
No insurance or license
He works for a national tree company that does
Entergy work
Mezican was like a monkey in that tree
Moonlights on the weekends

You'll only need an expensive crane if the trees are close to a building. Most tree services lease cranes when needed. A few of the larger companies actually own a crane and will use it at extra cost to you even if not needed.
Low bids often mean no insurance no license... maybe no brains. How much liability are you comfortable with?
If you are in a hurricane zone, you should be able to get good prices "out of season".

Very much depends on location. My parents in Colorado pay $100/tree, down in BR going rate can be anywhere from $1500-2500 depending on size.

Depending on many things, just have a land-clearing contractor come in with a tracked excavator and push or bash trees down. They will pop out of the ground, no stumps to grind. But, you'll need cutting up, hauling and filling the craters.

I just got a quote from a pretty well know tree company in BR for stump grinding and tree trimming. They wanted $550 to grind out a stump that is no more than 20 inces in diameter and to trim a tree that has some dead branches they quoted $3500. That was going to require a bucket truck. That to me was as high as giraffe pu$$y. So I got a buddy with an excavator to come remove the stump for a couple hundred bucks. And I’ll wait to get that tree trimmed back and find someone that will do it for about $1500.
