Would like to cut grass in morning, but don’t want to do it so early that I’m cutting wet grass. What time would be a good bet that the grass is dry?

My place middle of nowhere NWLA, like 1 mile from TX, the dew dries around noon. Talking literally till lunchtime or after straight through the heat of Summer even.

At 11am it will still be glistening droplets in the sunshine.

Around 12:30pm it will be barely moist in the shade.

Of course the location is between a small pond to the south and a spring fed creek to the north, only a mile from the N. Toledo Bend river bottoms.

Walk outside.

Rub hand across grass.

If needed, repeat at 1 hour intervals until your hand isn't wet.

Commence mowing thereafter.

I cut mine early, especially in the summer, but not so early as to be a nuisance to the neighbors.

That's why they make hoses------wash the mower when done and be sure to get any stuck on grass off the underside of the deck or it will rust out way quicker than it should.

Easiest way to determine this is to walk on it in your socks......should be very accurate in determining if the grass is dry

Sounds like a Cat Stevens song. Or maybe Joan Baez.

At the exact time it’s too hot for humans to be mowing grass.
