Is there a certain time of year that's best to do it?
Can i do it now and again in the springtime?
Been using my yard to back up my trailer but i have now fix the driveway where i don't need to use the lawn anymore and looking to fix the compaction done over the last year or so.
Located in Lafayette.

Yes, you can aerate your lawn now and in the spring. Do you plan on top dressing? If so, top dress in the spring when the grass is actively growing.

do you drive on the lawn? i was told its not needed unless the ground gets hard packed from driving vehicles on it

Can you really aerate as the grass is going dormant? Part of my lawn really needs to be aerated due to traffic, but my Bermuda grass is going dormant and the lack of rain the last couple months has really taken a toll on it.

Yes, you can. You'll hear arguments for spring and fall aerations. I honestly don't have a preference.
