where to get zoysia seed

Last year i sodded my yard with palisades zoysia. There are some areas that could use a little help and I was wondering if spreading seed would be a good idea. If anybody has bought zoysia seed before and could recommend where to buy it or have any advice that would be a huge help.

I'm almost certain you can't buy the seed for palisades. I'm not sure if it is a situation where the homeowner could never get it to grow properly, so it isn't sold. I suspect it is more a patent issue and no one is allowed to sell the seed.
I think there may have even been a clause on the receipt for my palisades saying I couldn't capture the seed in my own yard.

If you have Palisades Zoysia, you won’t find a seed that matches. There’s only one type of zoysia available by seed, and it’s Zenith Zoysia. I would not recommend overseeding your Palisades with Zenith Zoysia.
You’d be better off plugging the areas from the healthy parts of your Palisades Zoysia, or buying additional sod. I’ve bought sod and used it as “plugs” as well, but it takes a lot of effort and time and generally was not worth the trouble. Leveling the sod “plugs” and keeping it weed free was quite difficult.

I ordered plugs…. So much cheaper than sod and worked great!

Will zorsia plugs spread and take over fescue or bermuda?

It could but it would take a while. You could kill the fescue but the bermuda would be the challenge.
