RATING BUMP: DEZYRIAN ELLIS, 2026 ATH
Another true athlete prospect, Winnsboro (La.) Franklin Parish standout Dezyrian Ellis could play either way at the next level. In Ellis' case, he's a high school quarterback who we think is capable of developing into an FBS QB, but his athleticism and frame also clearly project to receiver or multiple spots in the secondary.
Ellis makes some impressive improvisational, off-schedule plays at QB, and he's put a throw of nearly 60 air yards from deep in his own end zone on tape. He threw for almost 2,200 yards, 31 TDs, and seven INTs as a junior, but Ellis also shows a functional long-ball gear from a speed perspective, fueling his strong rushing numbers (827 yards, 10 TDs, 9.19 per carry). While he's played QB the past two seasons, Ellis started his varsity career as a freshman at wideout.
Dangerous with the ball in his hands, Ellis owns the physical characteristics that also translate to safety or potentially boundary corner. He bolsters his athletic profile with strong high jump data, including a 6-foot-4 sophomore rep. Like Graves, Ellis makes a huge ascension to the highest three-star rating on 247Sports (89).
Coming off a 10-2 season in which he led Franklin Parish to a Louisiana Division II Non-Select state quarterfinal appearance, Ellis reports Power Four offers from LSU, Michigan State, and West Virginia in the past two weeks, in addition to FBS offers from Tulane, Louisiana Tech, and Southern Miss. – Brooks
INITIAL RATING: LEON NOIL, 2026 OT/IOL
Newly rated with a high three-star 88 grade on 247Sports, Leon Noil Jr. is one of the more intriguing prospects in the state of Louisiana's 2026 class. The offensive lineman from state championship program New Orleans Edna Karr assembled some encouraging pass-pro context as a junior.
Noil also showed close-quarters strength in his ability to lock up defenders at the point of attack with his big paws and anchoring acumen. Noil works for leverage and gets his hips involved regularly. Noil could potentially play multiple spots, and he could possibly continue to rise this offseason as we learn more. Noil has scheduled a June official visit at Houston and also owns offers from Baylor, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, and several other schools. – Brooks

Has to be because that's not a common name even for south Louisiana
