This board is so schizophrenic. People bash 3 stars but then get mad if someone says a walk-on QB won't see the field when LSU is signing higher rated QBs every year.

You’re cherry picking. Is it possible Knox Dyson will play meaning snaps at QB for LSU…yes. Is it probable he will…no.

Why would he come to a program with a QB room like LSU where he will never see the field and be just a practice arm instead of going to a smaller school and really have a shot to play QB?

You could say that about many backup D1 QB's. Rickie Collins will probably never play a meaningful snap here. It's very possible that Hurley won't either.

Definitive statements like this are dumb. Are the odds high he will be a star at this level? No. But "touch the field" is a low bar.
Could he be a holder? Perhaps.
Could he get mop up duty against an FCS school? Maybe
Could he grow into another position? Possible
Could he make a huge leap in ability? Doubtful, but it happens frequently.
