Nephew of both Blaine and Brett.

I guess it shows my age that I thought of Brett well before Blaine when I heard we were recruiting Jack Bech.

It'll be a while yet, but Blaine has a youngster playing on the Baton Rouge playgrounds right now that is going to be a stud. Already has the moves, speed and hands. Check them out, the Bech family is filled with talent.

Can he play in the slot similar to how we used Gilbert?

lol...most of this group that are around our age prolly never say it, but could almost certainly identify with the speaker of that line in real life.

Hopefully he can block better than Gilbert... shizz Kole Taylor gave way more effort blocking than Gilbert did

I thought Gilbert was okay as a freshmen. Definitely improvements to make but no need to trash the kid. Blocking is typically a learning curve with the relatively new direction of the tight end position. Typically they’re used more in the passing game to create mismatches
