Freshman All-American CB out of JMU, 2nd team All-Sunbelt. Originally from Hollywood, FL. He’s reportedly heard from 22 schools thus far according to @hayesfawcett3 on IG, LSU not being one of them. Ranked #24 Overall #2 CB behind Muhammad on On3 Portal Rankings.
52 Tackles, 2 INT, 12 PD, 1 FR in 2023.
I didn’t see the Spring Game, so still unsure about the state of the current CB room. Seems to me like this is a guy we should be after… right?

Don’t see why we wouldn’t pursue a guy with multiple years left if we’re going after the kid from wake

Because 1 year deals are where it’s at in the portal. You never know what you will get.

The issue with Ponds is he is 5'9 165 and played outside corner. I just dont know thats the type of player we are after. It's 1 thing to play that small in a mid-major conference, but how would he hold up playing on the outside in the SEC against some legit MUCH bigger dudes?
To me he seems like much more a nickelback but in Baker's defense we have the STAR position instead which is bigger safeties occupying that spot.

Yeah this just feels like Chestnut 2.0.
