The state of Louisiana was well-represented in the latest rankings updates for the 2027 class. Here's a look at who made the cut for the Top247, as well LSU's involvement up to this point.

No. 1 QB Elijah Haven
LSU fans are well acquainted with the top-ranked quarterback in the country. Haven has been on campus multiple times and has a strong relationship with Joe Sloan. The battle for Haven will be fierce, but there truly isn't a reason the Tigers shouldn't be able to secure a commitment.

No. 6 Edge Zyron Forstall
A versatile defender, Forestall picked up an offer from LSU back in early February. Alabama, Texas A&M, USC, and Missouri have since extended offers to him. With the edge room being a veteran-heavy group, Forstall is going to be a hot target for LSU and nearly a must-get for Kevin Peoples.

?No. 19 TE Ahmad Hudson
Elite, multi-sport athlete Ahmad Hudson has been highly regarded by LSU over the past two years. He has visited the campus multiple times, and with the connections from Ruston to LSU, the Tigers are the perceived leader in the room.

No. 58 DL Albert Simien
The Lake Charles (LA) product received an offer from the Tigers last October and has visited campus multiple times. The Tigers have made a good impression here, and this is an in-state talent that LSU doesn't need to let leave the state.

No. 71 WR Easton Royal
The wide receiver from Brother Martin has risen on recruiting boards across the country. He impressed me with his athleticism and ability to create separation. He doesn't hold an offer yet from the Tigers, but he's a guy to keep an eye on.

No. 86 ATH Braylon Calais
Another young player who impressed me during the 7v7 season in the spring. Calais has excellent athleticism, and his ability to make some contested catches and fight through traffic is impressive. LSU hasn't offered him yet, but I expect this to be a young man who arrives on campus this summer and impresses during camp.

No. 97 QB Malachi Ziegler
The lone quarterback in the 2027 class who still doesn't hold an LSU offer. Ziegler has impressed scouts at camps and looks the part of a bona fide power four quarterback. Will LSU truly pursue? We will see. Currently, the Tigers appear to be more involved with others at this point.

No. 106 RB Jayden Miles
A riser on boards and right in LSU's backyard at Catholic-BR. Miles is a physical back. There seems to be some indecision on where the Tigers will go for a back in the 2026 class. Should they opt for a transfer, Miles is a prime candidate to be the focal back in 2027.

No. 126 Safety Karon Eugene
The New Iberia (LA) product has some nice size at six-foot-two, 170 pounds and plays well in the run—another prime candidate to camp this summer and potentially pick up an offer from LSU.

No. 200 QB Peyton Houston
The "other" in-state quarterback that LSU is looking at in the 2027 class. Talking with scouts and watching "Pop" in person, there is so much to like about his game and leadership. Coming off a remarkable 2024 season, Houston is a highly sought-after national recruit and is coveted by several programs. If Haven bolts, Houston seems like the next option alongside Colton Nussmeier.

No. 208 Jayden Anding
With his older brother joining the program this year, Anding is familiar with what Corey Raymond, Jake Olsen, and Blake Baker want. As a safety, his size might suggest a more traditional nickel role currently, but that can always change. It's still very early in his recruitment in terms of offers, but Anding has the potential to make a jump late, much like his brother Aiden did. I liked the way he competed earlier this spring at camps and look forward to seeing him this summer at LSU's prospect camps.

Kind of a shocker that they have Zeigler 103 spots ahead of Houston. Did I miss something?

The disrespect for Houston is crazy. The kid is fantastic.

Zeigler's measurables and arm strength are off the charts. He's impressive to look at.

Houston is more polished at this stage, but Zeigler's ceiling is higher.

Current Texas resident Colton Nussmeier slots in at 45. There were rumors he could move to Louisiana with his Dad joining the Saints staff and Garrett and his sister at LSU.

Why does it seem like every time LSU has some good QB prospects it’s always the same class or close to it?
