With news a couple of weeks ago of LSU backing McMahon for another year and upping the NIL fund, I thought it would be a great time to get this thread up and running. Wanted everyone to get a look at all of the players we're recruiting and some of the visits we've already gotten. It should also be a fun transfer portal szn for LSU with the increased budget, so I'll also get the transfer portal thread going when the time comes.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the RPM prediction percentages right now as it's still super early and many visits still need to be made. If I've missed anyone let me know, I'll continue to add and take off names as the cycle goes on and players cut their lists down.

Its kinda hard to look forward and see how many recruits we'd take in '26 as of right now. With the new rule in place starting 2025, mens rosters are now capped at 15 roster spots.

Of course we have these scholarship seniors leaving:

Sears
Carter
Fountain
Bailey

The priority will be trying to keep the majority if not all of the '24 freshman class along with Reed and Collins. Could be wrong but I believe Mike Williams enters the portal after having his role reduced from his first season and Ward also plays elsewhere. So in a perfect world with no other transfer that leaves us with:

Givens
V. Miller
R. Miller
C. Chest
J. Reed
D. Collins
Noah Boyde
Treydez Green
M. Mosley ('25)
J. Reece ('25)
M. Gilhool ('25)

A good bit of our upped NIL fund will go towards keeping our current pieces but we should have a nice budget to go shopping this transfer portal season for 3 to 4 players.

Can we at least get the legacies? RJ Livingston and Brandon Bass, Jr. would be a nice start.

To me, the guard situation is the biggest indictment on McMahon. Basically, instead of developing and growing a couple of young guards that looked fairly serviceable, you bring in 2 older guards that don't move the needle. Basically, I'm not sure that a year of maturity for Ward and Williams was significantly different than the results we saw this year.

Not enough nil to fill wing guard spots.

If cenac flips you get a point forward. And still have zero depth at guard.

I'm nowhere near convinced we are getting "upped" NIL funds.

It's kinda been established that the Bailey kid who is missing a few vowels in his first name got $450k to come here, and he's NOWHERE NEAR Carter, Reed, Ward, and a couple of the top 60 recruits we signed in terms of financial compensation.

I think our marathon running AD is trying to sell us a bridge in Brooklyn. There is more going on behind the scenes than we know, and I think the AD is in extreme damage control mode in regards to the program.

I would estimate we spent at least $3 million on this current roster.

He did sign young guards Givens and Vyctorious Miller and like most freshmen their play was inconsistent. Miller's injuries slowed his development, but he showed great promise as a scorer. Givens assist to turnover ratio improved greatly over the season. Sears was a good signing but at times his lack of size was an issue. He would have been great as a shooting guard rather than point. Cam Carter was a great signing.

When he was recruiting the transfers they were expected to be complementary pieces to a team which included Reed and Ward who were continuing to develop and would provide 25 to 30 points per game. Williams was also expected to continue to develop as a combo guard. The loss of Reed and Ward created a deficit that could not be overcome. Reed was the only serious inside threat and his absence placed great pressure on the guards. The team that was projected would have contended for a place in the middle third of the league and possibly been a bubble team for the NCAA tournament. In hindsight it would have been better to place more emphasis on getting another frontcourt player with an offensive game.

The bottom line is that this "wizard" is 14-40 in SEC play. You can list all the reasons (EXCUSES) that you want to.

This is a COMPLETE EMBARRASSMENT, and he needs to go, YESTERDAY!!!!!!!

Assuming he wants to come back, Wade is the perfect replacement. If not, there are dozens of coaches that would do a better job than the guy that's stealing money from LSU now.

I’ve seen other non-tournament teams fan bases having the same bill of goods sold to them. What % are we increasing 5-10-50%, this idiot coach needs all the help he can get.

They looked like dogshit against some of the crappy non-conference teams even before Reed was injured. Go back and look at some of the 1h scores, they struggled against an awful UNO team for fricks sake.
