You were better off going with John Curtis, rather than Evangel!!.... although they have had a couple of players to do well also... But I think their players are over hyped sometimes.

Add Robert Davis to that list. He was never great by any standards, but he started. Starting on an SEC team certainly qualifies as panning out.

Evangel - Hester, Chase Pittman, Abrahm Booty and although I don't like the guy, Josh Booty.

John Curtis - Chris Jackson, Carnell Stewart (started at RT for a national championship team), Jason Spadoni (had some PT, although never a starter)

dumb arse thread.

the past is not prolog.

new people will be coach there. new kids come along.
anything is possible.

plus, as noted there were some important LSU players from there, in the past.

Just trying to use a excuse Rasco is overrated because he probably won't end up at LSU...

Hype will sometimes build up the wrong player, just like magazines trying to tell you who is the sexist slut in Hollywood. But hype means nothing when you look at someone like Hester, who was what, a 3 star? Sure played & looked like a 5 for LSU!

Evangel:
Josh Booty - 1st Team ALL SEC, 2 yr starter

Abram Booty - Fresh All American, 2nd Team ALL SEC, 3 yr starter

Byron Dawson - Started double digit games at LSU on the DL and he was not a major recruit

Jacob Hester - Don't really have to explain him

Bubba Alexander - Started quiet a few games but never developed into what the coaches expected from him because of drug problems and off the field trouble

Robert Davis - 3 yr starter off and on at CB

Phillip Maxwell - Reserve LB at LSU and started on Special Teams for a couple of years. Not highly recruited at all

Cisco Perkins - Red shirted and then was kicked off the team halfway through the 99 season for drug and off the field trouble

Am I missing anyone?

A few notable non LSU Evangel players:

Kenyata Dawson - All Big 12 selection and 3 yr starter at Texas Tech, 2 yr starter for the Indianapolis Colts and still plays for them as a back up DE

Jonathan Wade - 3 yr starting CB for Tenn, also started multiple games in the NFL

John David Booty - 2 yr starting QB at USC, All Pac 10 selection with over 6,000 yards passing in college. Back up QB in the NFL for Green Bay & Houston

Richard Smith - 2nd Team All SEC WR at Arkansas and broke some freshman Receiving records while at Ark, also started for a couple of yrs with the Kansas City Chiefs at WR

Brock Berlin - 2 yr starter for Miami and won 2 Orange Bowls. Back up QB for the Miami Dolphins & St Louis Rams

Chase Pittman - Transferred from Texas and was a 2 yr starter at DE for LSU. Played one year with the Cleveland Browns

Brent Rawls - Played at Oklahoma for a couple of years and was the starting QB over Jason White going into fall camp in 2003 but was kicked off the team for his constant drinking and discipline problems. (Barry Switzer at the time, said that Brent Rawls was the best QB prospect to ever come to OU)

Cole Pittman - Starting DT at Texas and was killed in the spring of 2001 after falling asleep at the wheel driving back to Austin.
