I don't have any idea where he ends up going, but I do know that his brother plays WR for Colorado after transferring from Vanderbilt.
Nate Sheppard is a tough kid. Glad he has the talent to play at the next level. He is very good.
I do not see him as a SEC talent at the RB position.

He already has SEC offers for RB.

I guess every analyst, recruiting coordinator, and expert can't answer your question either...
Berry has otherworldly speed and agility, abd catches like a WR. He has played 7 on 7 vs. every elite player in the South.
For the 1,263 time....NO ONE THINKS SHEPPARD ISN'T GREAT. YOU JUST CAN'T TAKE EVERYONE.

Armydude and Lester. A match made in homo heaven

This is true, they have the 2 guys they want at RB. The other kids will do great things elsewhere.
Time will tell if the evaluations were correct.

LSU’s last two leading rushers were a walk on and a kid they did not offer out of high school

Honestly?
I watched Sheppard in person. He is a good straight line runner. But he doesn’t have the quick twitch that Berry has for the next level. He will be a good downhill runner for Duke. But he isn’t going to run around a lot of people at the next level. Berry is going to make people miss and eat up yards at a blazing pace. I think Sheppard will have more success early in. But Berry will prove to be the better back by the end of it. That’s why so many more teams are offering Berry.

Which is why using Jayden in the run game was imperative. Nothing against Williams or Diggs, but they are not even close to the standard at RB for LSU. We’re getting back to that soon though with Durham, Berry, and Lindsey.

Great to see Nate doing good and should have solid career at Duke.
We are good at rb position thank you for having concern.

Maybe not, but both clearly are talented enough to play in the SEC.
You do realize Williams outplayed 5 star recruits Noah Cain & John Emery, right?

Sure, but talented enough to play in the SEC and the standard at LSU are different entities

Williams has been more consistent, but I’m not sure I would say he’s outplayed Emery. Emery’s big moments have been much higher than Williams’. Cain was just a depth piece we needed in 2022 that never lived up to his high school ranking at Penn State or LSU.

RBs in college are hard to judge from high school. Sure you can hit on a guy, but some intangibles are not seen at a high school level. Vision is a big one. Can the guy see the hole open up, in college the hole will close a lot quicker then in high school. Avoiding contact or taking contact are a different beast in college then high school. It can be easy at any level in high school 5a to 1a to avoid hits when the guys are slower and smaller. Vision and shiftiness don't always translate from HS to College or they just have never shown what they can do with that. Kaleb Jackson i think is a good example. He has the physical ability, but can't see the hole in LSU's system, maybe he isn't a zone blocking back
High School stats don't tell the story. I played with 2 guys who led Louisiana in rushing back in the 90s. 1 played baseball and the other was a DB at Mcneese. Neither were recruited by any major colleges for RB.

Well LSU runs gap scheme plays plenty and he can't see the hole there either

every year this board gets obsessed with a recruit that doesn't get an LSU offer
I guess Sheppard is that recruit this year
and TBH, most of the time the board is right

To me, LSU should just try to get em both signed and then figure it out when they get here and put the pads on . At that point, all of the film and camps,
7x7 's etc.. dont mean a damn thing. The coaches will figure out who can quickly learn the system, who can block, catch and who can do what . Whats the point of arguing over who's the best rb in high school at the moment ?

I agree. At least offer the kid.
For anybody that wants to track Nate Sheppard this Friday, go follow Pete Vicknair (no I’m not him either!) on X, and turn his notifications ON. Every 5-10 minutes during the game you will get a notification saying Nate Sheppard scored a TD. It really is insane.

What’s insane is your weird obsession and the fact this thread is still alive. LSU can’t take everyone. It’s going to be okay
