WBB ZaKiyah Johnson/Grace Knox- McDonald’s AA Game

I was impressed with our future Tigers for next year.
ZaKiyah Johnson (#11 black unis) has a lot of Flau’jae in her. Can catch & shoot from 3. Can create her own shot off the dribble. Has handles & can drive. Can run the fast break. Active defender & rebounder for her size. Great guard/wing quickness. 11pts, 4 rebs, 1 ast, 2 stl
(#23 in white unis) Grace Knox’s shot selection was versatile from 3, midrange and near the basket, just wasn’t falling tonight with only 4 pts. However she is an angry blocker and solid rebounder. 3 blocks and 10 rebounds. She’s a stretch PF, not a center.
Since both Tigers were starters, basically the starters only play the first 5 minutes of each quarter before the 2nd team replaces them, if you only want to watch them.
Angel Reese was in attendance along with a handful of other wnba players.

Wait till we see the other two 5-stars, Devine and Bella, they are fantastic also. Both can shoot 3s, quick driving to the basket, and score a lot of points. This is going to be a special group of Lady Tigers.

The problem is we desperately need to add size to our roster. We’re in great shape as far as guards and wings are concerned, but the departure of Morrow and Smith has left a gaping hole in our front court. Knox is one piece, but she’s a freshman. No other quality bigs elsewhere to be seen. That has to be rectified in the portal or we’ll get killed in the paint next season.

This will go down as one of Mulkeys best classes but she needs to add a large post player in the portal…. Maybe 2

Subject was specifically talking about the 4 new 5-star recruits coming in 2025. The transfer portal is separate subject. Yes agree, we will need 2 top Posts from the transfer portal to replace Aneesah and Samyah.
