Ben McDonald disagrees

I think it was 1996 regional we beat Ga tech 28-13.

We should all give the homer home plate umpire some credit! He definitely helped. How can you NOT ring up the batter on a “borderline” 3-2 pitch right in the middle of the plate. CPM let him have it and rightfully so. Tough loss but LSU was the better team ALL weekend. Can’t wait for Ark. Geaux Tigers!.

Nope. 28 - 2 to the Gumps in Tuscaloosa in '97 will forever be the worst.
Not for me because we got sweet revenge against Bama in the National Championship game. I told my buddy when they crushed us not to worry about that loss because Skip will beat them when it really matters and he sure did.

But that team that lost to Bama 28-2 also scorched the Tide 13-7 in the CWS Final in Omaha.

You must not have watched LSU baseball very long. There are a dozen games over the last 30 years that would be worse than todays loss.

Biggest comeback loss i can think of in a meaningful game
How was that meaningful? The team is still 6-12 - they would have been 7-11.
If that one game is the difference from them making the NCAAT at the end of the season, doesn't that tell you something about the team?

No because that Kentucky team was loaded.

It's by no means the worst loss. It was shocking the way it happened, and disappointing, but there have been worse losses. The NCAA Regional meltdown vs Houston in 2014 comes to mind, as does the final superegional loss to Stony Brook two years earlier.

Why didnt a fresh hilliard go in man. Hes a guy that would make it hard to square multiple pitches up. That breaking ball is tough to hit if he keeps it down.. instead we have a guy that wasnt super fresh and has been spiking breaking balls every fricking time

Still sucked like this

Have you only been watching LSU baseball since SEC play started?
Posted on 4/24/21 at 6:37 pm to LSU2THEMAX
Not close. The worst loss in LSU baseball history was Ben McDonald (and I am a big fan) versus Stanford in the CWS back in the late 80's. I did not get over that one until Warren Morris' ball went over the fence. I was pissed off today. My wife got on to me for letting out an expeletive in a restaurant when the grand slam went over the fence. But I can't say I was super shocked.

Worst lost? No, Biggest choke??? Absolutely

Is no one going to mention Stoney Brook? Either loss was completely unacceptable.
And I’m wonder how old the OP is, because that was far from the worst loss in LSU’s entire history.
