Wow , guy looked pretty healthy too. God bless, one of my good friends is in his ortho group.
How does a dude like that go yet we have tubs of lard oozing around into their 70s? Damn shame.

Dying at 49 of a heart attack is rough

I am 52 and have had 2 heart procedures since December and now having both of my legs worked on from the heart issues. My outlook on life has certainly changed. Bless Perry's family and friends.

Prayers to the family. We were in the same recruiting class at LSU. I remember visiting his hometown with Brian Sharp and Trey Champagne. Great guy.

I went to the LSU at Bama game in ‘97 when we shut them out. Sat in Bama student section with a friend going to school there.
Late in game, Faulk had a long TD run that included a few of the OL making their way to end zone. By then, student section was mostly empty so we moved down to 3rd row with a few other LSU fans. I’m pretty sure it was Perry that pointed at us and you could see it in highlights.

Deposed him a few times. He was always a great guy who would talk LSU football after the depo.

I didn’t realize until just now that Thomas Perry is his son. Whatever happened to Thomas? One year he was on the roster and the next he wasn’t. Did he transfer or just give up football?

Happens more often than you think especially with larger ppl.

Medically retired after injuring his back. He saw very limited playing time over 4 years, only played in 2-3 games.
According to Dr. Perry's colleague, Adam performed surgery all day yesterday and had a heart attack in his driveway at home. If he would have suffered the heart attack earlier in the day at the hospital, they may have been able to save him. Prayers and support sent for the family and friends

Very unfortunate.
Dr. Perry lost quite a bit of weight several years ago and was very lean

Yes DR. Perry had a history of a Heart Attack in like 2018-2019 ..had stent placed in LAD ... went on a diet and was in great shape physically!

What was the cause?
Back in the day, there were so many things guys (me being one if them) could do to gain weight, strength, speed, etc.
Nutrition wasn't dialed in nearly as well as it is today, so guys like linemen had to eat crazy amounts of calories to sustain and/or gain weight. Not to mention aftermarket products that probably held risks, unknown at the time.
Then, there are genetic traits passed on thru families.
Then there's stress. I would imagine he had lots of stress with a plate of responsibilities as full as his.
Godspeed to all in his world. He was a friend, my ortho, and a great Tiger!
No matter the underlying problem, that's a young age to have the heart kill a great athlete and physician, husband, and father.
Edit...did not know this...

Really nice guy. Had a physics lab at LSU with him back in the day. Rest in peace.
