I've read a lot of threads that he has been in and just don't see it that way. Generally he is just staying optimistic and pointing out some of the good things going on with the program of which there are many. Many on here just don't want to hear it and pursue him like crazed lunatics from thread to thread.

Yes, clearly his history of building elite programs was the deciding factor for the people who made the decision.

not to the people who made the hiring decision. It was a meme created by the board as a backlash towards Miles.

Agree to disagree I suppose. I just think you're WAAAAAYYYYYYY off on both of these points.

No one's attack him.

All people are saying is O's not a good coach and to that he says I have a gun.

To be fair,
O doesn’t do anything so he can’t really do anything wrong

Offense is on the OC
Defense is on the DC
Motivation is on the players
Recruiting is on the recruits can’t make them come here
In game coaching is on the players to execute

How can he mess up?

It’d be fine if that’s really all he was doing. But it’s not. He refuses to have a discussion, anyone who disagrees with him is automatically an idiot, any attempt to have a civilized debate with him suddenly means you hate LSU, any fair questions about why he believes the things he does are ignored or deflected. Nothing wrong at all with being positive. There are plenty of good posters that support coach O. Threatening to shoot someone doesn’t make you one of them. Ree may turn out to be right about everything he said. But he’s a straight up a-hole.

The only thing I’m excited about is the defense tbh. WR, TE, and OL has talent and depth finally but also a 1st year Qb with an elderly TE coach calling plays.

to some degree all that is true. Could be said about any HC other than the motivation part. That is on him.

Can be a great recruiter but when it comes down to it you can't twist a recruits arm and force him.

The head coach is like a CEO and oversees the process and has great influence on the team. But when it comes down to it, the OC has to OC and the DC has to DC and the players need to execute.

I think he's a bad person and a bad coach. Doesn't mean I don't want him succeed. I just don't think he will. Not sure why that bothers so many people. Saban was and is a bad person but he wins.

sarcasm of course. But it was that he was just the right man there at the right time. Just a good fit. He had already had about 6 month interview process during the interim coaching period and liked the potential they saw in him.

So, are you saying O was the right man, here at the right time for the LSU job? I just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly.

Ree oversimplifies things into

I think he's a bad coach = hate
I think someone else is a good coach = love in a homosexual way

Same question to you then, sir. Who's job is it to properly vet the coaching candidates? Especially when it's your biggest hire and could be argued as the one you absolutely need to get right.

I have never been A fn of what Canada has done... Pitt was decent and he does have a history of making some qb's better when he gets there... However.. I think O hired him because he knew what kind of boring offense the last coach ran and wanted butts in the seats by trying to provide a higher excitement level for the fanbase... Now having said that, Ensminger impressed me way more in 2016 than Canada did in 2017.... It will be interesting to see what kind of offense we come out with next year... sure we have a 1st time starter at QB and an unknown at WR and RB... Those are serious issues IMO.....
