As long as we smash balls over the outfield wall, I don't care what we put on it.

Enough people call the companies putting the ads up and complain they'll stop. That's all it comes down to. It's cost effective or them to get their name out and LSU wants the money. Until there's a backlash that makes it not worth the money it will continue. Simple math.

Skip Bertman did a horrible job of putting LSU on the map. And frick traditions.

Isn't LSU in a serious budget crisis and now you are suggesting taking away some much needed revenue?

The people saying this kind of shite have to be teenagers.

Just stating facts. The signs are there because they are worth the money investment for the companies to put them up.
I'm not suggesting anyone call and complain to the companies. I really don't care. Just pointing out complaining to LSU is a lost cause - they're making money off of it. The ONLY way they would EVER be removed is if there were a downside for the companies that pay to have them there.
I don't care either way, just pointing out they are there for a reason. The reason is the companies that put make money/brand awareness off of doing it. Period. Until that changes, nothing will change. They don't bother me at all.

I had a funny image of people calling Acme, Canes and Tony Chachere's bitching about outfield ads.

Weird. I like them. Baseball parks at every level have them. Nothing worse than a boring park.

They're good for explaining where a ball landed/hit. He hit it over the Manda sign.
Ha ha ha!! Thumbs up.

I agree - shite looks tacky, I'm not a fan of the ads behind the batters box either.
They love them some tacky arse ads all over LSU athletic venues.
We're sure they love that GIANT COCA-COLA AD at the top of the North Endzone scoreboard and ads all over iconic Tiger Stadium too.
Typical "Lump" (Louisiana/LSU version of a Bama Gump) attitude and mentality. "Don't talk bad or criticize anything concerning LSU Sports.

Of all the things to criticize about LSU athletics this should be waaaaay down the list. The money made from these sponsors can't be talked about enough. They're the sole reason LSU turns a profit in baseball.
And ads have been a part of sporting venues since marketing was invented. The first World Series was made possible by Gillette and Ford.

The signs don't bug me that much.
It's the cheap high school bleachers, the ugly Ponderosa tin monstrosity without a woodline to break it up, no greenspace in OF backdrops, and lack of attractive integrative outfield seating/SRO/pub table/Mini-monster wall/etc..like USCe has that makes it drab.
Alex Box Grandstand > the rest of NCAA..Baum nice
USCe, Pepperdine, Vandy, Ole Miss, etc Outfields >>> Alex Box

Thank you and more reasons why some of the smaller state schools need to be closed.

To be honest I have never really thought about it. No big deal IMO.

I would like less signs if we can get three or four big sponsors.
And I think advertising on the walls of the dugout is trashy looking. Keep that shite in the outfield...
