After yesterday’s devastating loss figured Id post this as a reality check to show where we stand in the full field today

Baseball America

• LSU #3 overall seed
• Second highest seeded SEC team
• 6 SEC teams with top 8 seeds (most all-time)
• 13 SEC teams in the field (most all-time)

quote:

Baton Rouge, La.
1. (3) LSU^ (SEC)
2. Louisville (ACC)
3. McNeese State* (Southland)
4. Wright State* (Horizon)
Paired with
quote:

Los Angeles, Calif. regional
1. (14) UCLA^* (Big Ten)
2. Cal Poly (Big West)
3. Kansas State (Big 12)
4. Utah Valley* (WAC)

I don’t want to play UCLA in anything. This past football season aside, they seem to have our number every time we see them.

Why exclude football? How far back do you consider recent? Which sports?

Let's assume 5 sports, Football, MBB, Baseball, Softball and WBB.

1 year? 2-1 - Football(1-0), Softball(1-0) and WBB(0-1)

2 years? 3-1 - Football(1-0), Softball(1-0) and WBB(1-1)

5 years? 3-2 - Football(1-1), Softball(1-0) and WBB(1-1)

10 years? 5-4 - Football(1-1), Softball(3-2) and WBB(1-1)

Seems to me that your fears are unfounded.

Because prior to that, if memory serves, we have the terrible Ed O game at the Rose Bowl, and them having our post season number in baseball this century.

It’s also not serious and I don’t care that much. Women’s sports don’t even enter my mind.

Carry on.

yeah from this in the article

quote:

just a month left in the regular season, our projected hosts no longer reflect the top 16 of the Top 25 but rather a blend of standings and metrics.

it sounds like they’re projecting us to finish 2nd in the SEC meaning victories over Tennessee and Arkansas for us to jump them in the standings. Getting them at the Box is hopefully the difference

Right, that was the only other time we played them in football ever.

2-2. The last time we played them in a BR super in 2000, we beat them 2 out of 2 times. We then lost to them in their regional in 2010 and Omaha in 2013. It has been a while since we have played them, though.

Fair enough,

I only thought that because WBB was the most recent loss.

I'm hopeful, but the next three series (maybe 2) will answer the contender pretender question.

But no more talking about it, its here.
