Why are the first two baseball series games all starting at 1 or 2 o'clock? especially opening day has always been a fun night game to attend.

because it's a round robin schedule with other teams involved
LSU is likely playing early because it will be warmer and better chance to complete games in case weather plays a factor
sucks for fans but considering opponents Jay is more concerned with getting the work in for non conf games

Right out of Skip's playbook. He always did this for regionals, playing the early game Fri. in case they lost a Fri. nite game & had to turnaround & play again Sat. a.m. According to CJJ, he & Skip talk several times a week, on occasion dinner at Skip's house. CJJ also uses Skip's visualization techniques before games, players laying down in a dark room & visualizing success. Skip also makes an occasional practice & they sit & talk in the dugout.

It's because it's colder at night and Jay wants them playing at the warmest possible time. It does suck for fans and attendance will take a hit, but Jay is valuing the players over fans which I can't necessarily blame him for.

This isn’t regionals, it’s the regular season.

Skip wanted big crowds and Skip wanted fans to enjoy their experience. Other than regionals, Skip didn’t play 2:00 PM games during the work week.

If y'all don't like the day games, sell your tickets. I'm sure there will he plenty of people who will gladly take your place.

weather in Baton Rouge sucks arse in February.

planning months in advance you can only guess based off past years.

during the day, you have a reasonable shot at temps being in mid 60s.
at night, you have a very realistic shot at temps being in low 40's.

of course rain is possible no matter what time slot you're in.

I think all home games in February should be day games. Too cold to play at night or at least it usually is.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize these games aren't regionals. Good Lord. So CJJ doesn't want big crowds & for fans to enjoy the experience? CJJ has said, numerous times, that he is responsible for all aspects of the program. So game times is then something he has planned, right? Pretty sure he & Skip have had talks about this & this is a conscious decision.

He definitely does, but obviously is not worth it to him for these February games.

Do you think that every decision that Jay makes is because he and Skip talked about it? Skip isn't telling Jay that a Monday game is February has to be played at 2pm. We know the times of these games is a conscious decision by Jay, it's just not the reason that you think.

Because Jay doesn’t like Choup and wants to give him something to bitch about for the first 3 weeks
