What areas in BR have decent hotels where my car won't be stolen or vandalized? We have not stayed in the College Dr. area for 5 years, is this a good place to spend the night?

Buy a camper, find a spot in TD village. Worth it

Lod Cook is on campus - I'd imagine it's tough to find a room.
Downtown - Watermark, Hilton, Hotel Indigo & Hampton Inn
Lauberge Casino
Several Options in the College/Corporate/Constitution area near the interstate - Crowne Plaza, Embassy Suites, Marriott etc.

I have stayed at the Comfort Suites not far from campus a few times.

I usually book in port allen and uber over. Not a bad drive and prices are usually much lower.

Out of state season ticket holder here. My wife and I drive or fly in for each game from out of state for last few years. We book downtown at the Hilton or down the street at Hampton. Never had any problems with our vehicle. Also There is a shuttle before and after each game that is fine most of times. It gets us to tailgating early and runs after game.

Yes, college drive area is as good as any. There is a good variety of hotels and restaurants there and it is relatively close to campus. One word off caution though…be cognizant of what lot you park in for the game, as some lots route you the wrong way upon leaving.

Stay in Lafayette. Rates in Baton Rouge during football season is highway robbery.

There is a Candlewood suites off College, north of Corporate, rates are cheap. Anyone know anything about the area?

That hotel should be ok. It's across the street from Lamar Advertising and down the street is a nice small business park. The Waffle House and that Gas station are a little shady along with that Wendy's. If it's a lot cheaper, try it, it would be down a bit on my list.
