BK needs to understand that physicality is the key to beating the big dogs like Bama and OSU. Bear Bryant's philosophy was that he wanted his players to toughen up in order to be able to have a chance to win. If you broke your back in practice, he wanted your fricking arse back to practice the very next day or you were kicked off the team. Where the hell is that kind of drive in today's football players? Players need to learn to push through the pain and keep going. They need to understand that it's about the PROGRAM, not themselves. Football players today only care about themselves and not the program.

Moron.

People were throwing bouquets at Orgeron for having practices that were not as tough as Miles' practice.

Even Bear stopped doing that stupid shite.

That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.

like Bama

Bama and UT just played a game with 101 total points and neither defense barely laid a hand in the other team

It’s 2022, offense and pace of play is king, not antiquated notions of “toughness”

So you want BK to have a 10 day camp starting with 100 players and come back with only 38? Then win 1 regular season game and 0 conference games?

Sounds great

I imagine that if you were to put one of Bear’s squads up against a modern championship football team you would realize pretty quickly that this is silly.

Modern S&C / recovery philosophies exist for a reason.

Miles had some of the most physical teams we've ever had and still couldn't do it between '11 and 16.

you’ll probably be the first one complaining why half the team is hurt and missing multiple games.

Good lord, this is the cringiest thing I’ve read on here in a while. I kind of want to RA this on general principle

Thanks for the hot take, tard

Btw, the fact that conditioning may be the absolute strength of this team renders your argument even more laughable

Am I not allowed to have an opinion? Freedom of speech should be a guarentee on here.

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve heard. Football has evolved since the 1950’s. Players are bigger and stronger. The game is much more scientific. You want a lot of guys from lower income families to risk it all for the program (which really just means that you want your team to entertain you) instead of thinking about the life changing millions they stand to make.

LSU would beat the brakes off of any of Bryant’s teams.

It's not like these players are probably all going to have CTE. They don't give a shite about health anyways. So who cares

You do realize that you don’t have to run players until they throw up to have a physically adept team.
