Oklahoma State may be setting the precedent for us. Mike Gundy’s salary and buyout have both been reduced with more money set to get better players.

“As part of the restructuring of Gundy's contract, his $7.75 million annual salary will be reduced to be redistributed as part of revenue sharing with players, and his buyout will be reduced, sources told ESPN.”

If I was him, I’d make them fire me. Not redoing my deal. They will fire him next year.

His team went 3-9 & lost their final game to Colorado 52-0.

You think that’s comparable to BK going 8-4 in the SEC?

If you can get Brian Kelly to agree to it, sure. I’m not sure why he would agree to do that though.

I think the OC situation could possibly be the opportunity for that to happen. If he wanted to move Sloan and hire a blockbuster OC, LSU could counter, like Ok State did when Gundy fired both of his coordinators.

Should reset his contract to 0$. Give him 1,000,000$ for every Louisiana boy he signs on roster. You want your 10 mil contract. Sign 100 Louisiana boys and BAM. We get championships and you get to make your 10 mil. Hes too dumb to go for that though. Instead he chases after out of state divas and keeps getting left at the altar. Louisiana boys = championships! Make it happen!

I say cut all the analysts and support people
You don’t need all that staff

Be honest. If you were CBK would you volunteer to reduce your salary?

I didn't think so.

Not only is this nuts, the Louisiana talent thing gets overstated on this board sometimes.

Ryan, Burns, and Gilbert were all very highly ranked Louisiana talent.

Seems like BK should agree to it since he acknowledges that we need more money for NIL. If he can make ends meet on, say 5 million per year, then that could be very helpful for our collective

So, by your proposal he could make $100 million just by signing LA natives and with no further performance expectations?

If he turns you down I will be glad to have a conversation with you

It’s going to be interesting to see how revenue sharing affects coaching contracts. That $20 million/year has to come from somewhere. Up to this point coaching salaries have been skyrocketing as revenue increased. I don’t know if the revenue sharing will necessarily bring salaries down, but I think it’ll slow down or stop the increase for a bit.

As far as restructuring goes - I dunno, it seems pretty unlikely to me. Somehow I doubt Gundy agreed to this out of kindness. But you never know. As I said the money has to come from somewhere. Cutting $20 million in expenses is not exactly trivial.

The whole point is a win win scenerio. He signs Louisiana boys, he gets his money. He signs Louisiana boys, we have the most loaded roster in cfb year in and year out and we win championships. Win win. When win win win, we all win!

Doubt this will happen, but I'm positive this is the last time we shackle ourselves to someone for 10 years at this contract price (and who has never won an NC).

Of course not. Why would Kelly agree to that?
