Yeah admittedly I was a bit let down with this one lol

My goodness that was bad

Big time! He’s a polished professional.

It was to straight away center and I guess he couldn’t confidently celebrate it as a walkoff with no fans in the stands to use as a reference. Ensley running back to the wall on a ball that landed over the batters eye is a bit comical nonetheless.

I think Lyn Rollins caught the emotion much better on this one.

Wild that he called that like there was any doubt about that ball being gone. It’s like he was calling it remotely lol

So glad Lyn was on the TV call

Lynn smoked him again on that call.

I was listening to that on very low volume on a bus from Budapest to Prague.

What a shite call... like it’s was on the warning tract

Y’all do realize he is old and it was almost. 1:30 am lol

Lyn Rollins is much older than Blair. I think the shot being straight away messed him up.
Another thing about Blair. I think he is good. But you just the extra emotion in Rollins he is a Louisiana guy. It just hits different when the hometown team has big moments. You could hear it with Hawthorne and you can hear it with Rollins. Blair just doesn’t have that connection

I really like Blair but that was weak

Yeah I would say Blair tries to be "professional" at all times where people like Hawthorne let their bias and emotion get the better of them especially in big moments for better or worse. It made for a more authentic listening experience because you felt the raw emotion. More than an announcer, it was a true fan describing the game to you. Like as if your buddy was breaking down the game.
