Didn’t it feel refreshing to not have entirely bone headed mistakes by Kelly? I don’t think I had a wtf coaching moment this year. I mean my one gripe us that he kept Jayden in for longer than I think a Saban would’ve, but hey just a casual fan here.

We had plenty of bone headed mistakes, we just had a lot more overall competence to tip the scales.

There were some really bad games this year, but the SEC was down overall and LSU overcame.

Yea, West was down a bit but the Bama win put us over the hump in terms of winning or losing games we should have. +1 season IMO with the Bama game.

Bama was not the same this year. Ole Miss was way overhyped, TTU stomped them, State and Arky were mediocre, Barn abysmal.

The West wasn’t much this year, but credit CBK for taking advantage of it.

this, I'm not completely sold on BK but him coming here has the same affect as Mett, our recent qb play was so shitty he seemed like the next Tom Brady by comparison

I feel like there were multiple questionable coaching decisions in the Tennessee game. Also, Kelly refusing to defer after winning the coin toss is extremely frustrating.

I agree with what you’re saying about the west but you have to take us into account as well. I don’t predict records but mostly what I saw was 8-10 win predictions from optimist so winning 9 was kind of on the nose and better than predicted by the sources who overhyped those west teams.

I agree, LSU isn’t that good either.

I don’t understand this talking point. Until recently almost every team took the ball after winning the coin toss. Its really just a personal preference, people act like its a huge disadvantage or something, its not.

It wasn't really an option until 2008. After that the percentage of teams that chose to defer has continued to grow basically every year. In 2018, like 95% of NFL teams that won the toss chose to defer. There's a reason for that.

How about keeping the special teams coach in that position ?

Agree completely. Plenty of questionable decisions. Not going under center with inches to go all year is ridiculous. The one qb sneak we ran was converted. Never ran again.
The TN game was full of head scratchers

Honestly didn’t care for some of the short-yardage play calling, especially near the goal line & on 4th down.
