Cost of LSU Louisiana license plate?

I just purchased a new vehicle on Tuesday and I asked the guy about getting an LSU plate and he said that it's $150 every 2 years because he has one. I asked him how much the regular plates are and he said it's $70 every 4 years. I thought your renewed your plate every 2 years and not 4? Is this correct? Also can someone who has an LSU plate tell me how much it costs?
I tried looking on the DMV's website and it's no help nor are the people who work there.
TIA!

Have you tried this?

Got mine for 50 bucks when I bought my new truck

Mine was only around $70 when I got it and yes it's every 2 years to renew

Is a normal license plate every 4 years to renew?

When I lived in Louisiana I got a new tag every four years. Now that I'm in Mississippi its yearly and the cost is out of sight.

I have been thinking about doing this as well.

I have one and it's not even close to $150 every 2 years. I can't remember exactly how much it is though.

For trucks, it's every 4 years, and the cost is $10 a year. It's $40.
For SUVs, cars or anything else, it's every 2 years, and the cost is determined on the amount of the vehicle when you purchased it.
As for LSU plates and how that works with this system, I haven't the first clue.

That's what I read online too but I just wanted to make sure and the people at the DMV don't help over the phone
I tried the special plate cost calculator with my friend's tag number since I don't have mine yet and it says $79 but I don't know if that's every year or every two or what. It's confusing.

I paid $100 for 2 years but I have the old style plate. I'm not sure if that matters or not

I really don't want to hijack this thread, but I've noticed that there's a new Louisiana license plate. It's horrible. Do trucks still get the 1994 year style, pictured below. Or, do trucks get that new style that's out there?

I refuse to get that ugly arse horse thing on the new plates. If I get a new car while that is still the style, I will be getting an LSU plate.

To be honest, Louisiana has some amateur looking License plates. I can't believe we continue to produce and not UPDATE the designs on our special and basic plates.
And that UGLY font we use on LOUISIANA , Wow!! It looks like a 5th grader writing in cursive for the 1st time.
GET WITH IT , even Alabama & Mississippi have a better plates then us.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it. If you can, say you are just curious. If you are not, why ask?
