Cuisine in Omaha

In case any fans coming up to Omaha still want to eat decent Louisiana cuisine there are ONLY 2 options that are good:
In Council Bluffs, IA across the Missouri River Red Anchor,
and in west Omaha Mouth of the South.
As far as Omaha cuisine - there is none. Steak and Pork are good here.
Best steakhouse in town, though expensive is Mahogany Prime
Less expensive option that is still good is just outside Omaha on the west side in Waterloo, NE, Farmer Brown’s Steakhouse
Very popular local pizza Mama’s Pizza
Good BBQ - Swine Dining and Porky Butts
Best Italian food options
Nicola’s, Mangia Italiana, Spezia, and my favorite of them Vincenzo’s
Go visit the Omaha Henry-Doorly Zoo while you are here. It is consistently ranked in the top 2-3 zoos in the country.
Welcome to Omaha!

I have one rule when I travel away from Louisiana. Don’t eat at places that serve “Cajun” or “Louisiana” cuisine. Odds are I can make whatever they are trying to make better than them.

This is true in places north of I-10 as well. Some places in Shreveport is a disgrace serving “Cajun” food

Just go find an LSU tailgate if you want cajun food in Omaha. Don't waste your time with any of that Nebraska cajun food nonsense

If you can't survive for a few days in Omaha without "Louisiana" food, you've got a problem.
When visiting a new area, how about trying some of the local specialties.
I don't know what that would be in Omaha Nebraska; maybe Corn Fritters made with local NON-GMO corn that hasn't been genetically engineered.....

Patently false.

100% truth.

I found their BBQ to be pretty good.

Where can I get a runza?

Runza. People here love them. They are sort of like a Natchitoches meat pie with softer bread.

I never understand LA people that travel to other places and eat shitty LA food and then complain about it.
When I go to Europe, I don't eat "Mexican" food. When I'm in Nebraska, I'm sure not going for "Cajun".

Well you know, since they know LSU is coming, everyone will be serving corn dogs.

@ann arbor tiger
Lo Sole Mio was a fantastic Italian restaurant. Sadly, it closed last year. Did you ever make it there? Was also an LSU fan favorite.
When I was there in 2009, the owners had a huge open house party for LSU fans. It was unbelievable.

When traveling, the lady thing I worry about is where I’m eating.
