Personally to me a big problem is Jay’s infatuation with how fast guys throw. I’d rather have guys who know how to pitch, rather than someone who can get close to 100 on the gun. Now if you can do both like Paul Skenes and (to a lesser degree of course) Anderson and Evans, that’s great. But give me pitchers like Cowan over hard throwers any day of the week.

I think it’s reasonable to say that at this point the team only has 4 reliable pitchers. That can be enough to take you a long way. But it also leaves little room for error.

Still only year 2 with yeskie, I’d wait and see how it pans out next year with the arms…
