This QB draft is bad bad. Jaxon Dart and Tyler Shough are now probable first round picks . If Nuss would’ve came out, I think he could’ve easily been the 2nd qb taken and went top 10. Now he may still go top 10 next year, and it’s obviously great for LSU he came back, but hindsight he probably should’ve pulled the trigger.

He wasn't ready. Regardless of where he gets drafted, Nuss would have been doing himself a disservice by declaring this year.

This is the good side of NIL, he's able to make a little money for the risk of injury but he gets to improve and be on better footing for when his NFL career starts.

Would he really be better off getting picked by the Browns when he's not ready? We've seen that movie before.

Look at next year's class. It's actually even worse. With a good season, Nuss could theoretically be the first QB taken.

2026 class (assuming juniors leave)

Arch Manning
Nico
Nuss
Drew Allar
Lanorris Sellers
Cade Klubnick
Sam Leavitt
John Mateer
Miller Moss
Carson Beck
Haynes King
Jackson Arnold

What makes you say that? I don't think that's a given AT ALL. I think you are blinded by your homerism.

If only he had a close relative that really knew quarterbacking and the NFL. Poor guy.

Why do you think this? Dart and Sanders were both statistically better than Nuss last year.

I disagree. Dart is looking like the 3rd QB who was statistically better in every category. Dart also has about 5,000 more passing yards in his career than Nuss. Dart may go second round. We'll see.

I’m sure his Dad gives better advice to NFL QB prospects than you

Idk how you listed all those names and assumed it was worse. The 26 class is way better in all aspects then the 25 class. Cam Ward and Sanders would be the 3rd and 6th QB in that class.

He stayed and waited his turn. Maybe he wanted more than 1 year as well.

No.

He was a very good QB last year. His mistakes are mostly correctable and with another season under his belt against top-flight competition, he will only improve on those mistakes/tendencies.

Nussmeier 2024 = really good QB
Nussmeier 2025 = elite QB

He may well be the #1 pick in the draft next year if he progresses as he should.

Because NFL scouts dont look at just statistics?

Did some of you guys just start keeping up with the draft process? We've had guys like Anthony Richardson, Trey Lance, and Zach Wilson all go in the 1st round off of potential and talent alone.

I mean Bailey Zappe broke Burrows passing records and went 4th round. Statistics dont mean shite at draft time.

Looking ahead at further classes is kind of a fools errand anyway

Cam Ward was a mid to late round pick if he came out last year based on the projections he got.

Burrow & Daniels very similarly had iffy to low projections coming out of their junior season and skyrocketed. Likely will be 4 guys on that list who turn out to be awful or bad prospects, and 2 that aren’t on that list that end up at the top

Also not so sure Arch comes out next season.

Ok, so tell us what all characteristics Nuss has that would make him "easily" the 2nd QB taken and a top 10 pick.

So you think because Nuss has a strong arm he would easily go top 10?

That's just not true at all.

Nuss needed/needs another year of experience and reps at the college level. He would benefit from more time learning to read defenses and letting the game slow down as his processing speeds up which can only come from game reps.
