Eletric generators for tailgating

This is our second year with season tickets and we’d like to tailgate in our parking lot. LSU says no gas generators only eletric. What brand generators are y’all using? Thanks for any help in advance.

Ours is a Yamaha but I see a lot of Honda ones used too.

Usually the only issue is loud generators. Get an inverter type and it's very unlikely anyone complains.

I have a few generators for around the house .. weather and tailgating…
I have a variety and got a decent brand at Costco or sams when they run specials.. harbor freight also..
But fwiw.. the two I like most are my Hondas .. can not remover the specific size.. little suitcase things ….. easy to move.. not much heat output.
They are very very quiet.. they tend to start right up.. and on eco setting run a while on a tank.. get the one that has the option to be connect to another one to provide a larger output in case you decide to have a few for hurricanes to hook together to run bigger things.

Thank you because the only Eletric generators I found were more portable power stations.

Hate to be that guy, but who gives a shite. Absolutely hate how far some of the tailgating has seemed to fall because LSU wants to monetize and squeeze every penny out the fan.

That’s bc there is no such thing as an “electric generator”. Think about it…. How are you going to use electricity to generate electricity???

I owned a pipeline services company for years and I've owned a lot of generators. It's hard to exaggerate the abuse and maltreatment my idiot employees heaped on my equipment. Thrown around and dropped while loading/unloading, left out in the weather, left laying on it's side, the oil was rarely checked unless I was standing there - and those Honda generators would just keep on trucking. Your tailgate generator will likely see gentler use than a pipeline generator but it's still nice to know that something is damn near idiot-proof. Honda makes some tough little engines.

I have a Honda eu2000i that is quite and dependable. It was under water for hours twice in floods. Changed the plug/oil/gas and it started up after 7-10 pulls. It is now 12 years old and going strong. Highly recommend.

Honda EU 2000i. And don’t look back. Gave mine a preseason check yesterday on fryer with some fresh specs. Second pull after 10 months of sitting.

Which would work fine for a single tv. A couple fans, speakers, and the TV, that thing will drain in a hurry.
Eta: Didn't even consider crockpots or fryer.

Same one we bring to tailgates for Baseball and Football. BTW for those wondering what the i means. It basically means it's safe to charge cell phones and laptops with it.
This is what you want right here. You can run fans, TV's, charge phones, etc all day long on a gallon of gas. Maybe 1.5 gallons. They are Not cheap(about $1200) but VERY much worth it. Weighs about 45 lbs. Easy to carry around.

I saw this thread and thought someone might know the answer. I have newer Honda EU2200i as everyone that lil thing is a tank and never fails to start. I take it out about every 6 months and run it if I haven’t used it. Well it has a feature where you can monitor it from an app on your phone. It tell you how much how much it is putting out and you can even shut it down from the phone. That feature didn’t matter to me when I bought it but last time I ran it I noticed that quit working. Any here have one of these newer Honda’s know anything about this? Did some searching online and didn’t find anything.

EcoFlow makes some good portable high wattage power stations that can be linked together but I never used for tailgating yet. Charges with wall outlet, vehicle charger or solar.
