I am not mad at Jay trying this experiment out. But for everyone who was begging him to play somebody at third who can "hit", are going to be the same people shitting on him for playing Jones tonight

Braswell is hitting .324 with a .439 OB% in SEC play. He can hit.

Hold That Tiger 10 says Reaves is better than Braswell.

For the life of me I can’t figure out why a lot of our fanbase thinks Braswell sucks at hitting and thinks there’s better options on our roster to play 3rd over him.

Braswell led the team in batting average last year in SEC games. He’s hitting .324 in SEC play compared to Jones at .244.

There are only 3 players on our team (Stanfield, Curiel, and Dickinson) with better batting averages in SEC play than Braswell.

He doesn't have a ton of power. That's it.

They play 50 games. Jones at 3rd during a mid week isn’t earth shattering. Braswell improved last year, will need to be a key player again during all tournament. No argument.

I think Braswell had the highest avg. last year vs. SEC teams. He’s clearly the best defensive option at 3rd. It’s time to lock him in and be done with it.

I think braswell should be our starting third baseman. I think he has earned his spot. If Jones is struggling and Jay thinks we need a shift in the lineup to stop the bleeding.....I hate to say it, but maybe you sit jones instead of braswell. Tonight exposed putting Jones at third too add another "hitter" won't matter if Jones still isn't hitting and making 3+ errors at third against T-ball hits by Northwestern. I personally don't think sitting Jones is the answer, but I do know for a fact starting him at third isn't going to win us games.

I get it, you want Brown in the lineup somehow. But the best you can do is platoon him with Frey at DH & in RF. I think when it all shakes out, you gonna have Braswell @3b & brown splitting ABs wherever he can get them. Sucks but is what it is

Brings up another point. Jones is struggling…let’s give him 3B to think about? Lol. Nah, this experiment is done

Singles were what we needed tonight. All the HRs and power got us a total of 3 runs.

Ben McDonald often quotes Earl Weaver saying what wins in baseball is pitching, defense, and the three-run homer. Most fans forget that middle one - defense. They also don’t connect that, to get three-run homers you have to have guys on base. Braswell plays defense and gets on base.

It is when you get run-ruled by a state school like Northwestern. Please let's stop with the experimenting. Jones has not evolved into the hitter that other teams shiver when he gets to the plate. That's a cold hard fact!

We still lose, but not run ruled. Bear accounted for all the errors that extended innings.

shite happens. Move on.

Braswell should 100% be starting 3rd from here on out, dude raked last year in SEC play and has hit well when given the opportunity this year. Bear is not a 3rd baseman and Reeves is a risk at 3rd.
