After an impressive freshman season, he really became an afterthought.

The article goes into how he tried to carve out a role in the backfield last year by gaining 10 lbs and being the physical, bruising back, but there was a learning curve and he lost a step in the process.

He's now down to his freshman weight again of 225.

Many players like him would've enter the transfer portal, but this makes me want to root for him when he clearly wasn't our most effective back last year. Seems like a good kid with a solid support system.

Point taken, but made an impact when he was on the field and appeared to have the potential to be the next great LSU running back, which is impressive for a freshman.

Everyone was expecting him to progress even more last year and get more PT, but it just never materialized and he averaged 3 yards a carry vs 5 the year before.

Thanks for posting. Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders and a good support system. I hope he balls out this year. Love to see local kids at LSU, will be rooting for Kaleb.

Truth. It's why we need to dominate Louisiana in recruiting first and foremost in the transfer portal era. Kaleb is putting in work and sticking around, for now at least, but kid from Miami would've been gone yesterday.

If you don’t love that article and his demeanor, especially in this day and age, something’s wrong with you

I like the rotation of Durham/KJ28/Berry if KJ is back down to 225. He gives us some size we need when he’s right

The rant melts when kids are disloyal and mock kids who stick it out, so typical

If he takes the next step we will easily have the best backfield in the SEC.

He’s got the total package physically. I don’t know if you can teach vision/anticipation. If he puts it all together, we’d have a definite 3 headed monster.

I wonder why he did that in the first place.

Not really. He didn’t have that great of a freshman season.

He just trucked a Mississippi State player one time, and then everyone started freaking out and exaggerating and acting like he was the next Leonard Fournette.

That is such a casual take. A 225LB freshman back averaging 5.3 YPC, showing decent hands, and a willingness to pass protect is definitely something to get excited about. Not to mention he showed some explosiveness in the return game. Did people allow their expectations to blow up a bit much? Yes. But to act like he didn’t have a promising freshman season is incorrect.

Can he pass block? Sometimes that's the somewhat hidden answer as to why a RB isn't getting more playing time.

From what I saw last year, that was why Josh Williams got so much playing time when it looked like Durham was much better at running attempts.

He has all the talent but sitting in the endzone and watching him
not see gaps to run through was tough

I pull for the dude he has everything
