Yeah I noticed and wondered about that because most families that structured and quality have solid faith as well. He hadn’t mentioned God once during both years and even being Christian myself I am ok with it either way honestly. In fact I prefer it than the Dabo route.

TBH I'm more attracted to it since it's in decline. I've always been a contrarian.

I heard him mention God after the peach bowl. Anyway, who knows where Joe is on believing in God but being a believer has nothing to do with attending church. I know many Catholic Christians who regularly miss church to watch football

Very refreshing to hear someone thank the people that actually did the work rather than blow past them and thank god.

Never got a religion vibe from Joe. Considering where he's from, I don't doubt he's Christian, but not actively practicing.

People can be nonreligious and be good people, which seems to be the case with Joe.

Some of the most unspeakable horrors (global and individual) have been committed by so-called people of faith.

So, so true. The fact that people feel as if they have to go to a church or ring the bell to “thank” God so publicly doesn’t, in my mind, make you more spiritual, religious or a better person. Some of those folks can be as largely hypocritical (if not more so than) some of us sinners that don’t go to a church regularly.

Joe Burrow comes across as a fairly humble, hard working, confident and decent person. His speech was personal and simply fantastic. He was raised well, regardless of whether or not he spent Sunday’s watching football or going to church.

Tannenbaum has been hating on Burrow for a while. He’s a grade A idiot.

Guys like Joe Burrow live strange lives. They are so focused on athletics that they just don't have a lot of the same experiences the rest of us do. As a result, we can expect a little strangeness from them.

Corby should be forever grateful that Bob Sturm has been sent in to rescue the sinking ship Hardline (minus Mike Rhyner). Didn’t realize just how good Rhyner was until he stepped down. Corby and Danny Bayless are flat out awful without some on-air talent to carry the show.

At the risk of interrupting the riveting theological debate in this thread, am I the only one that found his interest in time travel at all interesting??

This fricking dude is the coolest cat of all time. His rise has been superluminal and I can’t wait to see what Doc Burrow (or Joey McFly ) has in store for us next

Are you talking about all those pious young men who are always tweeting about giving glory, thanks and praise but then turn around and get busted for drugs, domestic abuse or worse? I’d prefer people brought up like Joe any day.

Perhaps the remark about not going to church in favor of watching football was simply Joe being Joe, a little sarcasm? From his press conferences to his Heisman acceptance speech, Joe seems pretty self-aware and savvy with media. He is also now out of college and a bit free to be himself in these situations, and this version of Joe seems to mirror, a bit more, his demeanor on the field where he can back up the talk.

Just seems par for the course for Joe, and a way to trigger those who do not like him a bit, or be funny in an interview knowing people will run with it.

what was odd to me was that he did not like the beach or the outdoors ...
usually most people like one or the other...
