Brian Kelley has looked better than he is because he has always had a good enough coaching staff around him to make his deficiencies tolerable.

I think he has made miacues in some of his assistants/ coordinators he hired and that made the normally acceptable mistakes way more noticable.

He is a slightly better than average coach that has had top notch assistants and now with him not having that level of assistants around him everyone will see how close to average he really is.

If he was coaching the ND game this week I would bet that would have lost to A&M.

The good news for tiger fans is he will disappear one night and leave the players a form letter when he moves on to his next gig.

Nah, I think the good news for college football fans is that this was likely Kelly’s last rung on the ladder. He’s old and he managed to make it high enough in the game to be offered a Jimbo contract by a desperate enough college program that was trying to keep up with the jones’s.

He’ll probably ride it out here for as many dollars as he can get for as long as he can get them. Acting it out. Saying his lines. Playing the roll. I think that the guy has zero burning desire to see LSU win championships. He just knows some of the lines that fans would expect a coach to speak on a mic and while on camera.
I feel like we’ve all been jip’d.

Yeah, my phone autocorrects to that, don't know why.

But glad to see you base someone's education on a misspelling on a message board, typical LSU t-shirt fan.

I'm sure everyone at the welfare office will get a laugh at that.

Kelly is not a football coach anymore, he's a football "administrator", and a very poor one at that. Sloan is in over his head, he played "not to lose, and that sucks!
Kelly needs to move on, along with our Athletic Director. Bite the bullet, I don't see it getting any better.

shows your youth and ignorance. This is fricking like the use of “Bebe when talking about a guy”. Just stupid

The word "baby" in Cajun French is bébé.

In Cajun and Creole slang, the word cher is used as a term of endearment that means "darling," "dear," or "sweetheart". It can also be used as an adjective to describe something that is sweet or cute. The word is pronounced "sha" with a short "a". It is often used as an exclamation.

Sorry, but y’all that are dumping on Kelly for his remarks either didn’t listen, did listen but are too stupid to comprehend, or are just flat out pussified.

Were there some in-game coaching errors? Sure. Were they the totality of the game? No.

I heard him take personal blame but also hold players accountable.

The two unsportsmanlikes alone, were difference-makers in the game. Full stop. Period. GFY if you don’t think so.

Getting in the red zone 3 different times with only 6 points to show for it against strong competition is just below par - plain and simple.

Add in the lack of total and cohesive ‘killer instinct’ and that’s all she wrote.

The other failures -coaching or otherwise- were just lagniappe.

And yes, USC (QB included) did make plays that LSU didn’t and they did not have unnecessarily suicidal penalties.

Kelly took blame and said he personally needs to do better.

But in this case, certain players’ actions especially, and certain team mentalities generally (I’m talking again to you, killer instinct), have to be owned by the players.

This game was so winnable it’s not even funny but, as has been said since forever, the coaches aren’t on the field playing the game…

And pound the table and look real mad. He knows he's been exposed. I think he knows he won't win a Natty here.

Well, that was a pathetic overreaction.

And I probably graduated before you could spell, even incorrectly.

Based on what? Notre Dame looked sloppier than LSU IMO.

They just played an even sloppier team.

Kelly’s agent ran into cheese fry woody. Woody spends money on football coaches like a drunk sailor on a week long binge.
