Is Harold Perkins an early exit risk at this point?

I know at the beginning of the season some people considered him to be a first rounder but he didn't really produce anything on the field to show it. I know the NFL drafts on potential but some of that potential has to be questioned after a season ending injury and lackluster production

I think he should come back another year but no telling what he will do

I don't know if it really matters at this point, he's a tweener with no position.

Best bet is to probably shed some of that linebacker weight and try a move to safety.

He’ll go pro. Dont see lsu wanting to keep that nil money going to him either. Would rather them reinvest elsewhere.

Wonder what his draft grade is now? I would have to think 3rd round at best

I personally think he’s gone. Either to the draft or another team that can better develop/scheme him

I thought it was common knowledge that he's gone.

Risk? Who’s going to pick up a LB that hasn’t produced in 2 years?? Oh wait, you mean his “potential “? Yes, please someone draft him. His “potential “ didn’t become “actual”, so although I wish him a speedy recovery, and years of playing and providing for his family, I think he needs to move on and hope that someone in the NFL can do something with him. He’s never been a problem in the locker room or off the field, and he’s represented LSU in a positive light, but he didn’t make us a better team when he was on the field.

What a weird career here.

Meteoric rise to be followed up with mediocre play.

Just keep wondering if that’s on Perk or the coaching staff for not knowing how to develop and use him.

Maason Smith was a mid-2nd round draft pick. Perkins is a 1st round lock and is gone.

he is not a backer, and never will be. If he is smart, he will shed a little weight and try to play safety. I don't know where he would fit in the NFL in any other position. He gets blocked easily. Should have been a safety from the get go.

to me if he moved to Safety at a lighter weight, he would be a star in the making. I can just see him just blowing it up at Safety.

Doesn’t have the hips for safety.

He was more productive in 2023 than people give him credit for, and he had to do a lot more (ie play in space) than he did as a freshman. I remember him getting some praise for his coverage skills. He had already kinda morphed into our star and at times our nickel last year due to injuries and the DB issues.

I think his best scenario in the NFL is a Jabrill Peppers type safety role.

You can argue he’s a 1 trick pony, but NFL teams like that trick and are more included to carry pass rush specialist.

And it’s not that we wouldn’t take a pass rush specialist, we just wanted to see if we could get more out of an amazing athlete.
