It’s hard with just four pitchers

Four pitchers that you can count on. Basically had to concede last night to try to win the series today. Theoretically,
it should work. You’ve went through Tennessee’s best arms. Cowan and Evans can go multiple innings. So you should come out and rake their freshmen today. Win a 8-2 type game. We’ll see.

Long term though, it’s hard to see this team making much postseason noise unless multiple bullpen arms step up. Because it’s becoming more clear that good pitching can navigate this lineup.
I think can still make Omaha.

Regional you’d go Johnny Wholestaff against the four seed. Anderson in the money game. Eyanson in game 3 with Cowan and Evans available to put out any fires. Super is more difficult but Jay will probably try to manage it like he did this weekend. Very small margin for error though

I agree with you almost completely.
The one thing I’d say is that the SEC is ridiculously tough this year.
We have enough pitching to get out of a regional. The issue is the super regional draw

The pitching is not the problem, good enough to beat elite teams. But when you cant hit the baseball for lets say, I dunno, EIGHT INNINGS and/or you finally get your lead off hitter to second nobody out and...cant get him home, that may be why you lose big games.

I think we're fine in a regional, as long as we win game 1. The super, you just pitch it like this series. (As long as this works lol)

We have to get offensive production or we're just spitting in the wind.

The team is struggling offensively but Jay keeps forcing Pearson too high in the lineup. Josh has played in 18 SEC games (started 15) and he has managed to knock in 5 runs. As bad as that is, he batted 3rd last night. If that’s the best you can do for the third spot in the lineup, you are going to struggle.

Brown has had less at bats and has knocked in 14 runs. Pearson has had plenty of chances with RISP and keeps coming up empty.

I “Think” we recruit pitchers similar to mlb, but they can put them in minors forever, as long as they have potential. We have pitchers with great potential and u can’t teach 98mph but they aren’t pitchers. Not yet anyway. LSU doesn’t have time to develop because of transfer portal and the ones we got in portal weren’t strike throws either, besides one. Got to have strike throwers first.

Pearson in 3rd slot is way better than Frey anywhere near the top of the lineup. We have too many holes in our batting lineup.

This is not an either or situation. If Pearson is in the lineup, he should be 7th or 8th. You can’t have the 3rd spot of the lineup being a hole.

As for Pearson and Frey… their SEC stats are VERY similar. For those of you that think Pearson is much better, the numbers don’t back it up. Frey is much better overall on the season, but struggling in SEC like Pearson. Personally I’d be fine with giving someone else reps there but Jay plays his favorites.

It’s even harder when you don’t score many runs

This is true. They will be lucky to get out of a regional.

LSU currently has 5 pitchers with 2+ SEC innings pitched that also have an ERA under 5. Do you know how many pitchers Tennessee has that also fit that criteria? 5.

People of a severe lack of understanding of how good pitching staffs are across the country. As well as lineups.

The pitching is far from the problem… in most losses, they have kept us in it. The offense is constantly shitting the bed. No one is clicking at the same time. Bottom of the lineup shouldn’t be out performing the top.
